Chapter 540 Reunion

Chapter 540 Reunion

Tiny black fruits rattled softly, making rustling noises inside their husks.

Riley kept everyone from getting close.

Hanna raised her crossbow and fired three precise bolts, severing the vine’s root completely

The moment the black-fruit vine hit the ground, several fruits burst open. Tiny black bugs warmed o only to be burned to ashes instantly by Felix’s fire.

Dayshift shuddered at the sight.

“Nothing but bad luck for anyone who touches that stuff.”

The team stepped around the vine remains and entered the space behind the collapsed gate.

A hidden hollow lay on the other side.

It was not a large area, but perfect for defense. The entrance stayed narrow, while the interior had enough room to shelter dozens of people.

Recessed stone walls on both sides created natural spots for the injured and stored supplies. All surrounding moss had been cleared away, and stone blocks sealed every crack where vine roots could spawn.

NorthWind stood just inside the entrance, waiting for them.

He looked thinner than before, exhaustion clear on his face, yet his gaze remained steady.

When he saw Riley leading the team in, he finally relaxed.

“President”

Behind him, more than a dozen survivors stood up one after another.

Familiar faces like Arthur were present, alongside other former Icefield Drifters Alliance members.

Some bore injuries, others had damaged gear, but their overall condition was far better than Riley had expected.

Eighteen people in total.

Smiles spread across many of Hope Guild’s members.

Lone Sparrow walked over and bumped shoulders with Arthur.

“You guys doing good? Hiding out here living the easy life?” Arthur let out a bitter laugh and lifted his bandaged arm.

Chapter 540 Reunion

“Easy life! Look at this

LoneSparrow immediately backed down.

“Alright, as long as you’re alive.”

NorthWind turned to Riley. “I couldn’t get in touch with you earlier, so I had no choice bu spot and hold position.

“Floor 10 is way more troublesome than Floor 9. The monsters and terrain work together can’t rush around blindly.”

Riley nodded. “We saw that firsthand on the way here.”

She quickly briefed him on everything they’d encountered-the blockade on Floor 8, the sale hall on Floor 9, and the news that Nobody and ToxicReaper had rushed ahead to Floor 10 hours earlier

NorthWind’s brows tightened at their names.

“I haven’t seen them at all.”

“Has any other group passed through this area?” Riley asked.

“A few,” NorthWind replied. “Not many though. Mostly strong teams, or squads scattered by monster fights

“This spot’s off the main path, so we haven’t run into much traffic. But half an hour ago, a group hurried past the far main corridor.

“I couldn’t tell if they were part of our guild. They were moving too fast.”

“Which direction?”

NorthWind gestured toward the opposite side of the hollow.

“Heading toward the central zone. Floor 10’s paths are far more winding than Floor 9’s though. It might not lead to the central hall. Could just be a resource zone or another main passage.”

Riley fell into thought.

Floor 10 had fewer survivors and plenty of untouched loot, but it also made tracking leads far hardes

Nobody and ToxicReaper weren’t showing up on comms. That meant they were either extremely far or trapped inside a signal-blocked zone.

Still, reuniting with NorthWind’s team was a huge win.

Hope Guild’s forces had grown.

They could advance far more steadily now, and they had enough manpower to deal with hostile guilds chasing from behind.

Chapter 540 Reunion

NorthWind glanced at the foll team behind Riley.

“You’re planning to keep moving?”

“Yes” Riley nodded firmly.

NorthWind didn’t press for more details.

He understood exactly why she was in such a rush.
