Pineapple Beer pointed to their failed attempts written on the stone slab.

“We tried going left to right along the semicircle to activate seven bells. But we messed up on the third step, and trap monsters spawned right away.”

TartKing chimed in. “After that, we thought the line lengths decided the order. We tried again. but we failed on the second step too.”

Riley stared at the broken line carved into the stone door.

“It’s not about the order. It’s about filling what’s missing.”

Pineapple Beer looked intrigued.

“Missing?”

Riley set the three-line and five-tone copper shards side by side on the central platform.

“The three-line door gave us three dots. The five-line one gave us a full arc. The seven-line door has broken and crossed lines on its semicircle. We don’t need to pick seven bells. We just need to complete the pattern that builds from three, to five, to seven.”

Tart King listened closely, still confused. “But how do we complete it?”

Pineapple Beer studied the three tiny dots on the back of the three-line shard.

“Is the arc on the five-tone shard just an extension of those three connected dots?”

Riley nodded.

“The three dots are the base. The five-line arc builds on them. The seven-line puzzle needs both dots and arcs to find the correct bell positions.”

PineappleBeer flipped the three-line shard over and placed it next to the five-tone piece.

To their surprise, the two shards lined up perfectly along their edges.

A soft click sounded.

The pieces locked together, forming one larger semicircular copper disc.

TartKing’s eyes lit up. “We can combine them like this?!”

“We never thought to try before,” Pineapple Beer said.

“That’s because it was only the two of us!” TartKing said. “Now Burger’s here, we’ve got three people brainstorming.”

PineappleBeer said lightly, “That’s one way to put it.

“Still works, though!”

Riley set the newly merged copper disc into the hollow bell slot in the center of the platform

It fit perfectly.

In the next instant, all twelve bell markings on the platform flashed bright. Most faded right away, leaving exactly seven glowing softly.

“These are the seven bells we need!” TartKing exclaimed.

PineappleBeer didn’t rush to press anything. She frowned at the seven lit carvings.

“But what’s the activation order?”

The glowing bells gave no clue for sequence.

Riley glanced back at the seven-line door. Its seven lines formed a loose semicircle. Three we clear, five matched the arc on their copper shard, and the last two were one broken line and one crossed line.

“The door doesn’t tell us the order. The copper disc does.”

She tapped the disc’s edge, but nothing happened.

TartKing circled the platform for a better view and spoke up. “Burger, can we spin this thing?”

Riley checked and spotted a thin gap around the disc’s edge.

She twisted it gently, and the disc turned smoothly.

As it rotated, the seven glowing bell marks shifted positions too.

PineappleBeer caught on immediately. “We need to align the disc’s semicircle with the door’s semicircle.”

TartKing ran to the door to check the angle and called out directions.

“A little left!”

Riley turned the disc accordingly.

“Too far! Turn it back a tiny bit.”

Riley adjusted it again.

“Hold it right there,” PineappleBeer said, watching the carvings closely.

The seven bell markings finally lined up perfectly with the seven lines on the door.

The door’s broken line matched the chipped bell carving. The crossed line lined up with the bell above the intersecting floor grooves.

The correct sequence finally made sense.

It wasn’t a simple left-to-right order.

It followed the semicircle’s curve, starting at the broken line, passing the crossing point, and ending at the chipped bell marking.

PineappleBeer quickly carved the full sequence onto their stone slab.

Riley set her twin axes down and rested a hand on the first bell carving.

“I’ll take the first, fourth, and seventh.”

PineappleBeer stood on the left. “Second and fifth are mine.”

TartKing moved to the right side. “I’ve got third and sixth.”

The three formed a steady triangle around the platform.

Riley glanced at them.

“Take it slow. Stick strictly to the order.”

“Got it, Burger!” TartKing grinned.

Pineapple Beer smiled faintly. “She only hurries when she’s nervous.”

Tart King pouted. “I’m not nervous. I’m just quick!”

“Sure. Quick enough to almost step on a wire.”

“Pineapple!”

Riley pressed the first bell carving, and the two fell instantly quiet.

The corresponding copper bell overhead wobbled softly.
