Chapter 581 A Quiet Moment Together

Chapter 581 A Quiet Moment Together

LoneWolf walked by and yawned. “You kids sure do care about all the little details.”

Hanna shot him a look. “You just said you were young a second ago.”

LoneWolf paused. “My mental age changes based on the situation.”

Over on their side, a group of guild members crowded around TartKing, firing off questions about what they’d been through in the dungeon.

TartKing got a little overwhelmed and kept her answer short.

“We ran into a puzzle dungeon. Nothing too bad, just tons of annoying traps.”

PineappleBeer cut in, “She almost got pulled off by a teleport beam.”

Tartking turned on her right away. “We both almost got pulled in! Don’t twist the story.”

“You jumped over to me first,” PineappleBeer said plainly.

“If I hadn’t, you would’ve gotten stuck in there alone!” TartKing argued.

The members around them listened, totally amazed.

Someone whispered, “So you twe saved each other and ended up in a new dungeon together?”

TartKing thought for a second and nodded. “Pretty much.”

Riley sat nearby, watching quietly without stepping in.

She rarely let herself relax in the middle of a dungeon run.

But right now, she was glad to let everyone laugh and unwind.

RedBean finished sorting the rest schedule and walked over to Riley.

“President, all watch shifts are set. NorthWind’s team and two ranged players have the first round. Hanna’s on the second shift, and Bruce’s taking the third. TartKing, Nobody and ToxicReaper are wrapping up with the injured and will rest after they’re done.”

“Go rest too,” Riley said. “You’ve been going nonstop.”

“I’ll just finish updating our status log, then sleep,” RedBean replied.

Riley stared at her silently.

RedBean quickly backed down. “Only the most important stuff. Ten minutes tops, I swear.”

Satisfied, Riley looked away.

PineappleBeer sat down next to her. She didn’t lie back; she just leaned against a stone pillar with her hood covering half her face.

“Not sleeping yet?” Riley asked.

“In a bit, PineappleBeer answered. “I only just linked up with you guys. I’m not tired enough to fall asleep right now.”

Riley didn’t push her.

Once she’d treated the last wounded teammate, TartKing walked over and sat down with them as well.

She unslung her greatsword and set it gently against the stone platform, then placed her staff within easy reach.

“I’m staying up a little longer too.”

Riley looked at the two of them. “You guys were just teasing me for rushing earlier.”

TartKing smiled softly. “No need to rush anymore.”

PineappleBeer said quietly, “We’re all here now.”

That simple sentence left all three of them quiet for a moment.

Everyone was together.

All the people they cared about were safe and right beside them.

The hall slowly settled down.

Some players were already fast asleep, while others chatted in low voices. Warm light from the distant NPC shops glided across the copper-tiled floor.

The still copper bells hanging from the ceiling stayed silent, like traps that had finally stopped stirring.

The mechanical countdown still had nearly two days left on the clock.

That was tons of time in dungeon terms.

They wouldn’t have to rush down to the next floor before the Black Fog rolled in.

After double-checking the timer, Riley stopped pressing the team to keep moving.

The safe zone blocked all player attacks-a rule they’d proven many times on previous floors. As long as no sie stepped outside the light barrier, they were completely safe, no matter how many monsters lurked right outside.

Hanna had already set up basic night watch rotations.

NorthWind double-checked the entrance to make sure it was secure.

Once TartKing, Nobody and ToxicReaper finished tending to all the injured, Riley sent them off to rest as well.

“If you burn yourselves out now, we’ll run into real problems later,” Riley told them.

TartKing had been about to say she wasn’t worn out at all.

But the second she opened her mouth, a tiny yawn slipped out.

PineappleBeer glanced at her. “Not tired, huh?”
