Chapter 589 Floor Fifteen’s Deadly Truth
Bruce stood at the front, sliding his feet back half a step to brace for impact.
“These hits are way too strong!”

Riley darted forward fast. The patterns on her Mountain-Shatter Tactical Pants lit up. She cut sideways between two Bonewarden Sentinels, swinging her dual axes right at their knee joints, one axe for each monster.
Sparks flew everywhere.
Cracks spread across their stone and bone armor, but it didn’t snap like it had on the lower floors.
Riley’s wrists jarred from the heavy blow.
Their defense was way higher than she’d expected.
The very next moment, three Darkspine Bulls burst out of the rocky cracks on the right side.
NorthWind had already gotten the second shield team ready to block their path at an angle. But the bulls charged way too fast. One crashed straight into the edge of their shield wall, sending one shield member flying through the air.
TartKing’s healing light landed on him instantly.
“Stay focused!”
Hanna’s voice cut through the nervous murmurs from the backline.
She fired three arrows in quick succession, each one landing perfectly in the head of a Crystal Thorn Bug perched on the high left ledge. But the bug didn’t die immediately. It curled up tight, and the crystal spikes on its back exploded violently.
Tiny crystal shards rained down on the rear team.
Nobody stepped up in time to block for the healers. Two other teammates activated small defense scrolls, and their faint light barriers stopped most

Meanwhile, Felix finally tossed his explosives into the rocky crevices on the right.

A loud boom rang out. Flying rubble blocked off half the charging path, slowing the remaining two bulls. Riley took the opening, slamming one axe into the chest armor of the front Bonewarden Sentinel and hooking her other axe around its spear to yank it aside.
Bruce and his shield team rushed forward and knocked the Sentinel flat on the ground.
PineappleBeer’s figure flickered through the shadows.
She drove her Time-Severing Shadow Blade into one Sentinel’s neck and triggered Time Distort. She vanished for a split second, then reappeared behind another enemy. Two quick critical strikes hit their weak points, taking two Sentinels out of the fight entirely.
Still, she stumbled pretty badly when she landed.
TartKing noticed right away and hit her with a quick heal.
“You’re burning through your stamina too fast!”
Pineapple Beer didn’t look back. “Don’t worry about me. Keep the frontline alive.”
The rest of the team fell into position fast. They popped more defense scrolls, softening and absorbing the nonstop damage hitting the frontline members.
The fight dragged on for more than ten minutes.
When the last Darkspine Bull finally fell, the whole team went dead quiet.
Monster crafting materials and Frost Tokens covered the ground, but nobody felt even a little bit relieved.
RedBean quickly counted their losses. “Nine minor injuries, three moderate injuries. Four defense scrolls used, four shields broken.”
They’d barely even started exploring Floor 15.
This fight had cost them more resources than the fight with the mini-boss on Floor 14.
To make things worse, NorthWind’s team had held off the monsters spawning behind the but those enemies still completely blocked

One player asked nervously, “Should we fall back a little first?”
The second the question left his mouth, he knew it was impossible.

Monsters were already spawning behind them. Falling back would just run them straight into more enemies. There were no safe hidden rooms they’d found on this floor, not yet at least. And the portal wouldn’t let them return to Floor 14 whenever they wanted.
They had no choice but to push forward.
