Chapter 62 Future Warnings

Pineapple Beer leaned back against the cold stone wall, turning her crossbow over in her as if it were a puzzle she was trying to work out.
“It gets worse,” she said flatly.
“The Ghouls you’ve been dealing with? That’s just the warm–up.
“As time goes on, nights out here on the ice are going to get a lot more dangerous. The eli level creatures–even boss–tier monsters that usually only show up deep in the dungeons- they’ll start surfacing.
“Night Stalkers, Frost Trolls, Ice–Wyverns… they’ll come knocking just like the Ghouls do n
TartKing shrank into herself, fear plain on her face. “So… we’re basically screwed then?”
“That’s why walls matter,” PineappleBeer replied, glancing toward Riley. “In a couple of year you’ll need to upgrade to something like Obsidian Walls or a Rune Ward System. Otherwis nothing’s gonna hold those things back.”
Riley gave a slow nod, already thinking it over. It looked like her building plans needed to move faster. Stone and rare ores were still a bottomless pit of demand.
“And then there are the dungeons,” Pineapple Beer went on, gesturing toward the floor. Place like this one are gonna start popping up all over. And the rules inside them are gonna get me complicated, too. It won’t just be about survival or exploring anymore–there’ll be Faction Wars, Resource Battles, even Puzzle Chambers you have to escape. And sure, some will be pure loot dungeons, just rewards waiting to be grabbed.
“This world’s got layers. A ton of gear, magic, and tech you couldn’t even imagine back on Earth it’ll all start unlocking as more dungeons open.
Hearing that, Riley remembered something that had been bugging her
“There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask
“Go ahead.”
“I never find any loot chests our in the wild, Riley sighed “Look at Tartking–she can literally kick a rock and a bronze chest pops out. But me? I’ve scoured the ice helds and haven’t even stumbled on a wooden crate”
Pineapple Beer listened, looked at Riley, then at TartKing, who was sitting there doing her best

innocent look.
A faint smile actually touched her lips.
“Might not be about luck.”
“Huh?” Riley’s eyes brightened. “Seriously?”

“Yeah.” Pineapple Beer nodded. “More likely… you just got stuck with a bad starting zone.”
Riley stared. “Starting zone?”
“Right,” Pineapple Beer explained. “Every player’s spawn point has hidden stats. Some area: tagged as ‘high–yield zones!
“And you…” She gave Riley a look that was almost pitying. “Your spot might be a ‘low–yield zone‘, or maybe on the edge of some ‘aggressive mob territory! Those kinds of places usual only spawn monsters. Chests don’t really show up.”
Riley felt like she’d been punched in the gut.
So it wasn’t bad luck–it was a bad address?
What kind of messed–up system was this? Getting stuck with a bad neighborhood in real life was rough enough, but now she was living in the apocalyptic equivalent of a dead–end street
too?
“Is there any way to fix it?” Riley pressed, not ready to quit. “Can I move
“You can,” Pineapple Beer confirmed. “Keep an eye out for Base Relocation Permis. They re rare, but they’re out there. Use one, and you can move your whole camp buildings ine hated -to new coordinates, either random or somewhere specifie
“That actually exists? Riley felt a rush of hope
She had to move Once they got out of this dungeon shed trade everything she had for one of those permits and get herself into a decent arca
“There’s more than just relocation permits Pineapple Beer continued Later on youll get things like Visitor Passes. Use one and you can drop into a friend’s camp You can’t take anything or break stuff, but you can look around swap ups that kind of thing
“And then there are Rand Permits
“Use one of those, and you can declare war on another player’s camp During the raid, then
