Chapter 655 Star Pillar Activation
Riley handed a small obstacle cleaning talisman to TartKing.
“I’ll activate the pillars. Tart, stand by for heals. Pine, keep an eye out for any changes.”
“No,” PineappleBeer cut in. “Let me do it.”
Riley frowned.
PineappleBeer’s gaze swept over the seven stone pillars.
‘If the sequence follows the pattern 1 saw earlier, I’ve got a better feel for it.”
TartKing disagreed right away. “But your head’s hurting right now.”
‘If we mess this up,” PineappleBeer said, “we’ll all end up with headaches.”
t was such an annoying yet true line.
That’s totally different from your migraine!” TartKing argued quickly.
Riley slipped the talisman back into her bag and gripped her Storm Splitter Dual Axes in her other hand.
I’m doing it.”
‘ineappleBeer tried to refuse again.
It’s fine. You tell me the order, and I’ll handle the activation. If something goes wrong, I’m closer to the pillars and can react faster,” iley said firmly.
‘ineappleBeer pressed her lips together and held back her protests.
artKing nodded at once. “I agree with this plan. You’ve got the highest HP and can tank hits.”
tiley shot her a blank look.
artking quickly fixed her wording, “I mean, you’re super reliable and super experienced. High–risk operations like this are perfect or you.”
Riley smiled faintly and said nothing more.
PineappleBeer stared at the first pillar carved with the empty cup pattern. She pointed toward it, then closed her eyes to recall the
sequence.
“Start with the empty cup. There’s a vertical line down the center of the pillar. Swipe upward from the bottom, and don’t touch the cup’s rim.”
Riley walked up to the pillar.
The stone stood half a head taller than her. Its surface was cold and spotless, like it got wiped clean all the time. The empty cup carving was shallow, with the opening facing up and a straight line running down from its base.

She didn’t rush. First, she tapped the edge of the pillar lightly with her axe handle.
Nothing happened.
The Starlight Armor Figures guarding the silver line intersections in the distance didn’t even turn their heads.
Riley stretched out her left hand, pressed it to the vertical line at the cup’s base, and slid her fingers upward along the carving.
The moment her fingertips reached the center of the cup pattern, a faint, quiet sound came from inside the pillar.
It sounded just like an empty cup being set upside down on stone.
A thin silver light lit up the cup carving, trickled down the pillar, and sank into the ground. The central stone lamp stayed unlit, but one rune along the platform’s edge flickered to life.
TartKing held her breath. “Did it work?”
PineappleBeer kept her eyes locked on the silver lines on the ground.
“Next one. The closed eye.”
The closed eye pillar sat on the left side of the semicircle.
Riley moved over steadily. She avoided every silver line intersection entirely, her shoe soles brushing past glowing trails without stepping on them. Her dual axes hung loosely at her sides, blade tips off the ground.
The closed eye pattern was more complex than the cup. It looked like a horizontal eye shape with three fine lines trailing from its
outer corner.
“Swipe inward from the tail end to the center,” PineappleBeer instructed.
Riley followed the order exactly.
The second her fingertips touched the eye’s tail, the carving trembled slightly. For a split second, countless faint voices seemed to press in around her ears, before getting suppressed instantly.
TartKing’s staff glowed brightly. “Burger?”
“I’m fine.”
Riley kept pushing her fingers inward.
The eye carving slowly closed itself shut. Finally, the entire pattern flared silver, then dimmed little by little. Only the lines at the pillar’s base remained lit, connecting steadily to the empty cup pillar. (!)
A second rune on the central stone platform’s edge lit up.
This time, the platform didn’t fall quiet right away.
A small slit opened beneath the unlit stone lamp, spitting out a palm–sized black stone box.
TartKing’s eyes lit up. She started forward, then stopped herself abruptly.
“Can we take it?”

PineappleBeer glanced at the box, then checked the shifting silver lines of the ground.
“It’s a reward. Don’t touch the lamp yet, but the box is safe to grab.”
Riley pried the stone box open with her axe handle.
There were no weapons, no potions inside. Only three fist–sized pale blue crystals covered in a thin layer of white frost.
A system notification popped up instantly.
