Chapter 673 Breathing Crack
Chapter 673 Breathing Crack
TartKing held her breath as she walked past the frozen monsters.
“If all of these wake up at once, we’re gonna get surrounded, right?”
Riley glanced at the monsters‘ positions.
“Then we just make sure they don’t wake up.”
Tartking let out a helpless sigh. “Thanks. That was zero comfort.”
PineappleBeer suddenly lifted a hand and pointed at a rocky crack up ahead.
“We’re going that way.”

Riley looked toward the spot. The passage was much narrower, dotted with floating gravel wedged between the rock walls on both sides.
“You sure?”
PineappleBeer nodded firmly.
“The wider path on the left looks safe, but there’s a time fault running straight through it. You can’t tell from here, but stepping on it will drop you into a completely different moment in time.”
TartKing’s palms turned sweaty from nerves.
“A different moment in time? What does that even mean?”
PineappleBeer thought for a second.
“Probably the exact center of the explosion.”
TartKing immediately edged closer to Riley.
“Narrow path’s great. I’ll take the narrow path any day.”
Riley didn’t waste any more words and took the lead into the rocky crack.
The wind died completely inside the passage.
It was so quiet they could hear the soft clink of their gear shifting with every step.
A chunk of rock hung frozen less than half a foot in front of Riley’s forehead. She twisted sideways to dodge it, her Storm Splitter. Dual Axes brushing against the wall without touching the floating debris.
TartKing followed closely, moving extremely carefully.
With the greatsword on her back, she could only shuffle forward little by little through the tight spots.
PineappleBeer reached out and held the bottom of her sword sheath to steady it.

TartKing turned to thank her, but PineappleBeer spoke first.
“This sword of yours is really cumbersome.”
TartKing fell completely silent.
The three of them squeezed through the crack and stepped out onto a wide platform halfway up the mountain.
This place held an even more complete frozen scene of disaster.
Dozens of monsters were locked mid–charge, bodies leaning forward in their final lunge.

A massive split cut straight across the ground. Gravel flew mid–air out of the fissure, mixed with frozen flames, black smoke, silver light and dirt–all stuck at the exact moment the explosion burst outward.
In the center of the platform gaped a pitch–black crack leading deep into the mountain’s interior.
It looked like a door.
It also looked like an unhealed wound.
PineappleBeer stood at the platform’s edge, staring at the crack as her expression slowly darkened.
She stepped forward to head inside.
Riley stretched out an arm and blocked her path.
“Hold on. We scope it out first before rushing in.”
PineappleBeer stopped and whispered, “It’s right inside.”
TartKing’s gaze locked onto the black crack, and her staff glowed faintly on its own.
The entire explosion on the platform was frozen at its most dangerous peak.
Monsters, debris, fire and silver light were all locked outside the entrance.
It felt like one wrong move would unfreeze the entire blast and set it off again.
Riley lifted her eyes toward the mountain’s depths.
No light shone from the black crack.
Only a faint, steady hum echoed out from deep inside, pulsing softly over and over.
Riley stood right before the opening.
Outside on the platform, everything remained frozen solid–the gravel, flames, monsters and shattered metat all stuck mid- explosion. But the air inside the crack was different.
It moved, ever so slowly.
Like something deep in the darkness was breathing.

FartKing raised her staff a little. A pale white ball of light bloomed at the tip..

The glow couldn’t reach tar into the crack. It only lit up the black–red rock walls on either side. The stone bore clear scorch marks from extreme heat, crisscrossed by broken silver lines–distorted star tracks that looked forcibly embedded into the mountain
itself.
“Should we go in?”
Right after asking, she subconsciously stepped half a step back.
Riley turned to look at PineappleBeer.
PineappleBeer stood at the edge of the crack, her gaze fixed firmly on the dark depths.
She didn’t rush them and explain anything. Her fingers simply curled slightly at Her sides.
After a few quiet seconds, she spoke. Her voice was even lower than before.
“It’s in there. Let’s go.”
Riley nodded.
PineappleBeer said nothing more and followed them into the crack.
The passage was extremely narrow.
Riley couldn’t fully spread her dual axes. She gripped one tightly in her hand and slung the other over her back. She tapped the path ahead with her axe handle, carefully dodging floating gravel and jagged metal protruding from the walls.
Most of the debris was still frozen in place.
But not completely stationary like the stuff outside.
