Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1318

“It was because of her that I met you. Honestly, the first time I saw her, I just had this gut feeling, like she needed a little help. Then I saw her mom and realized, okay, maybe there were two people who needed me. Who would’ve thought that one small act of kindness would lead us here, to something this beautiful. Camila, thank you for being brave, for taking one step after another until you finally reached me.”

Dennis spoke slowly, every word crisp and steady.

Camila’s eyes stung, the tears threatening, but today, she wasn’t going to cry. Instead, she lifted her chin and blinked until her vision cleared.

Once she had herself under control, she smiled at him and said, “Dennis Williams, you keep saying you’re the lucky one, but honestly, that’s me. You were the one who pulled me out, when I felt completely lost. All this time, your patience, the way you guided me, gave me the courage and the care I never knew I needed. I wouldn't be who I am now without your love and the way you always made me feel special. I don’t ask for much. All I want is to really know you, to share every day with you, to love you, for as long as we both have time left.”

Their vows had everyone in the crowd tearing up. Most of their friends and family had witnessed their whole journey from the beginning. The applause was thunderous. Down below, Melissa George, Jerry Davis, and Mr. Morris wiped away happy tears.

Sarah Brown couldn’t help it, she just broke down. Out of everyone, she knew best what it took for Camila and Dennis to make it here. Watching her friend finally get her happiness made Sarah honestly, deeply happy too.

Larry Adams wrapped an arm around Sarah's shoulders, letting her cry into his chest.

Mr. Harris watched the newlyweds with a big grin. “That’s it for the ceremony. Would the bride and groom please exchange rings?”

Lillian was already waiting at the side, standing straight and proper, holding the tray with the rings.

Camila and Dennis shared a look, then reached out together, slipping the rings onto each other’s fingers. As their friends and family looked on, they drew close and kissed, holding each other tight.
