Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1753

Mars leaned forward. “You want to know how my aunt’s doing overseas?”

Jupiter crossed his arms. “No, and I don’t want to hear her name, either.”

Mars shrugged. “Alright, I’ll drop it.”

Milka shot Mars a look: Weren’t you going to bring it up?

Mars squeezed her hand under the table, his eyes telling her not to worry.

Around the table, Jupiter—who claimed he didn’t care and didn’t want his ex’s name spoken—finally snapped. “Don’t think I don’t get what you’re up to. You want me and Milka’s mom to get back together, so Milka will finally agree to marry you. Well, forget it.”

Milka hadn’t even opened her mouth when Mars, spitting out a fish bone, piped up, “Come on. Milka’s with me because she wants to be. She just worries about my aunt—she’s all alone overseas. If she had someone there to look after her, Milka wouldn’t be so anxious. That’s literally what I’m going to sort out on this trip.”

Father and daughter both stared at Mars, who was casually helping himself to dinner like he didn’t have a care in the world. “You’re playing matchmaker for her?” Jupiter asked, incredulous.

“You’re really setting my mom up with someone?” Milka echoed.

Mars picked up a piece of meat and dropped it onto Milka’s plate. The second their eyes met, Milka caved. “So… who is it?”

Mars grinned. “Parker. The guy from her restaurant. Seems decent—about her age, single, always looking out for her.”

“Uncle, let’s be real. If Parker really goes after her for a while, my aunt might just move overseas for good. Milka and I talked it over with her. Sure, as her kids, we’d love for you two to get back together, but she’s got a good life there. Why come back? If Milka and I get married and have kids, and she keeps taking the grandkids abroad to visit their grandma, next thing you know, I’ll be on some government watchlist.”

Jupiter sat surrounded by his favorite dishes, but he looked like he’d rather throw his chopsticks than eat.

Mars finished, and Milka jumped in, “Dad, you know Mom’s old-school. She could never accept being married twice. If you’d just let go of your pride—”

“No chance!” Jupiter cut her off immediately. “Milka, don’t think I don’t see what you and Mars are trying to pull. You want me and your mom to get remarried so you two can be together? Not happening.”

Mars put his chopsticks down and wiped his mouth. “Honestly, that was our plan at first. But since you’re so dead set against it, I’m switching gears. I’ll just find my aunt a new partner. We can’t let your issues ruin our lives forever. Parker’s a solid guy—I checked him out. No worries.”
