Hanging up, Milka pretty much guessed the outcome. She leaned back in her chair, taking in her surroundings, reminiscing about her time at the company. She had given her all, grateful for the opportunities she had received.

It was a pity she couldn't see it through to the end, but she accepted it.

She had already discussed her work situation with Mars.

"The worst-case scenario is getting recalled to headquarters. But we're building our life here, so I might end up unemployed for a bit."

Mars scoffed. "Worried I can't provide for you? Have a little faith in your man. If I can marry you, I can definitely give you a better life."

Milka smiled. "I've got my own nest egg."

Mars waved it off. "Keep your little pre-marriage savings for yourself."

Milka added, "I'm low maintenance."

"Then give me four kids. We'll cover the Army, Navy, Air Force, and get a scholar while we're at it."

Milka rolled her eyes. "Go find a pig if you want a litter."

Mars leaned in with a wicked smirk. "A pig isn't as pretty as you, and definitely not as fun to pin down."

Milka was speechless.
