Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1827

Hearing the shouts from the house, Andre looked at the 'trap' and then glanced up at the sky.

As soon as he pulled the door open, he was startled by the three 'guardians' blocking the entrance.

The tiny guardian, Henry, was lying on a mat, huddled under a small blanket. Dressed in his striped pajamas, he genuinely looked like a fierce little tiger cub.

The middle guardian, Mia, was sitting on her son's tiny stool with her hands shoved into her pockets, waiting for the sparrows to take the bait. She exuded an aura of profound patience, like a wise fisherman waiting for a willing catch. In reality, the moment she saw her husband approaching, she had scrambled to hide her snacks in her pockets.

The elderly guardian, Hansen, was perched on a taller chair, gripping the string to spring the trap. He had just finished chewing something, though no one knew exactly what he had been eating.

Then, all three generations fixed their gazes simultaneously on Andre's hands. His hands were not empty!

Henry scrambled off the mat in a split second and dashed over. "Dad, what did you buy for me to eat?"

Mia pressed her lips together. "Honey, I can smell it. It's roasted chestnuts."

Hansen added, "It's not just chestnuts. Look, he's got two bags."

Andre handed the roasted chestnuts and candied berries he had bought on the way home to Mia. Then, he stepped inside and shut the door behind him. "Stop playing around. You're never going to catch anything."

Hansen, already digging into the snacks his son had brought, scolded him. "Nonsense! Your mother and I used to play this exact game with you when you were little."

Andre scoffed. "You guys threw down exactly three grains of wheat. A person can't even see them, so how do you expect a sparrow flying in the sky to notice?"

Hansen looked at Mia. "You only threw two or three grains?"

Mia looked at her son. "You threw them piece by piece?"
