Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1831

Bruce Cedillo only let his guard down when he was at home with his family. "Jose is retiring," he casually mentioned to Chad Byrne. "Any thoughts on that?"

"I'd be lying if I said no, Bruce," Chad admitted.

Andre Cedillo, who had been quietly tending to his little tiger cub, Henry, chimed in. "Tread carefully."

Both Bruce and Chad understood the weight of Andre's warning and immediately dropped the subject.

Henry's cheeks were stuffed with food. "Daddy, is it going to snow again today?"

"It's supposed to snow this afternoon. Why?"

"Mommy said she's taking me out to play," Henry chirped. "She just hasn't told me where yet."

Hansen Cedillo woke up and stretched as he came downstairs. "Well, look at that. The three lazy women in this house still aren't as active as I am."

Bruce immediately came to his wife's defense. "Dad, Naomi is in the gym doing yoga."

Chad and Andre smartly kept their mouths shut.

By mid-morning, the men had left for work. Henry and his little cousin ran around the yard, while Hansen headed out to the suburbs to visit Golden Top, his oldest grandson's startup.

From a distance, Leo Cedillo's car could be seen outfitted with tire chains. As Hansen walked through the main gate, he noticed a woman washing pots in the courtyard. She looked vaguely familiar, though he couldn't quite place her. "Who are you?"

She paused, thinking for a moment. "Are you our boss's grandfather?"

Hansen nodded. "That's right."

He had heard his son mention the previous night how freezing and miserable it was out here in the winter. Worried, Hansen had decided to check on Leo himself. Normally, if his grandson wasn't actively annoying him, he wouldn't even bother visiting. "Is Leo inside?"

"Right inside."

Hansen strolled in, taking in the surroundings with a swell of pride. His grandson had done a solid job with the place. He had transformed a bare warehouse into a genuinely comfortable workspace. Every time Hansen visited, it looked better. He even spotted some gym equipment now. Not bad at all.

A few steps further, he spotted Leo. His grandson stood with his hands behind his back, his brow furrowed as he stared intently at a subordinate's computer screen.
