Andre scooped up his sleeping nephew while Mia and Molly grabbed the shopping bags from the trunk, sprinting toward the house. "Molly, go change into your snow boots, and let's go play in the snow! We bought those boots last year, but it hardly snowed, so we never got to wear them."

"Did I leave my pair here or at the Byrne family's house?" Molly wondered. "I can't even remember."

"You bought so many pairs! Whatever you have there, you definitely have here. Just check your closet, you'll find a pair."

"Makes perfect sense."

Pushing open the front door, a blast of biting, freezing wind surged into the springtime warmth of the house, only to be cut off the instant the door clicked shut.

"Grandpa! I brought you something yummy!"

Hansen's eyes crinkled into a delighted smile as he watched his precious grandson run toward him. "There's my good boy. Come here, let Grandpa give you a hug."

Henry threw himself into Hansen's arms, abandoning the spicy takeout on the table. He clambered onto his grandfather's lap, earning a shower of affectionate hugs.

Bruce took the sleeping Wayne from Andre. "He's out cold. Look at that sweet, peaceful little face."

Once the kids were settled, Mia and Molly disappeared to change.

As Hansen dug into the takeout his grandson had brought him, he casually asked who had driven them home.

Jade beamed with pride. "Dad, I drove! Impressive, right?"

"If Andre wasn't sitting in the passenger seat, I doubt you'd even dare turn the key."

Andre sat nearby, already swapping his son's shoes for sturdy leather boots. He had overheard his wife and sister plotting their snow adventure, so he was making sure Henry's thick boots were ready. "Dad, Molly actually drives pretty well now."

"Hear that, old man? Keep underestimating me, and you'll never get a ride in my passenger seat."

Hansen took another bite. "Why didn't you add any chili oil to this?"
