Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1845

Before the sun had even risen, city workers were already up, plowing the streets and clearing the roads. The Cedillo family staff were up at four or five in the morning, diligently sweeping the snow from the courtyard and the driveway.

When everyone finally woke up, Henry ran to the window to find the world transformed into a blanket of pristine white.

Christmas had arrived, and the streets were decked out in vibrant decorations.

True to his word, the presents for Henry and Wayne had crossed the ocean and were delivered right into their eager hands on the big day.

The old indoor playpen at the house had been dismantled; the boys were growing up and rarely crawled into it anymore.

In its place, Andre had a massive Christmas tree brought into the living room.

It was draped in colorful lights, and nestled within its branches were dozens of small, round baubles. If you popped one open, you might find candy, coins, or chocolate.

Tucked further back were little hanging ornaments stuffed with tiny surprises. Once the tree was set up, opening these blind-box ornaments became a family addiction on Christmas day. "Who put this in here? A mini perfume?" Naomi asked, popping open a bauble.

Molly grinned. "Naomi, that was me! I stole it from Mia."

Mia immediately rushed over. "Let me smell which of my samples she pilfered!"

Henry and Wayne stood on opposite sides of the tree, their small hands struggling to twist open the glowing plastic bulbs. Henry finally managed to pinch out a piece of milky candy. "Mommy, who put this one here?"

Hansen announced. "I did, sweet boy! And there's another one in there for sweetie."

For days leading up to Christmas, everyone in the family had been hoarding little trinkets. Whenever the coast was clear, they would sneak over to the tree and stuff their gifts into the hollow ornaments.

Some items were bought from boutiques, while others were rummaged from personal drawers.

If the tree area was empty, someone was bound to slip over and stash a gift.

If a bauble still had tape on it, it meant it was empty. You had to peel the tape, stuff the gift inside, and twist the cap back on to secure it.
