"There aren't any more gold bars. That was the only one, and it was the biggest," Andre said. And naturally, it had been scooped right up by his wife.
"Daddy, I found one too!" Henry triumphantly held up a gleaming, golden rectangular bar.
But the moment he tried to bend it, it snapped. "Oh, it's just chocolate!"
He happily split it with Wayne.
Meanwhile, Hansen was deeply engrossed in his own treasure hunt. It took his brain a moment to process the earlier conversation. He looked at the butler. "Did Molly just call me stingy?"
The butler sighed softly. "Sir, it's already in the past."
Hansen glared at his daughter. "Hmph. Just for that, you're not allowed to find the things I hid."
Just then, Molly popped open a brightly lit capsule. "Who put a diamond bracelet in here? Mia, was this you?"
Mia leaned in. "Nope. Andre never bought me that style."
Naomi stepped over to inspect it. "Isn't this a style from over twenty years ago? With the little pendant and the 'love' engraving behind the diamonds? You can't even buy these anymore."
Hansen suddenly looked sheepish. "Molly, put that down. That's not for you."
"Dad? You put this in here?"
Molly held up the bracelet, grinning as she bumped her shoulder against her father's. "So romantic back in the day, huh? Bought this for Mom?"
Hansen reached for it. "Give it here. I meant for Naomi or Mia to find it."
