With Naomi out running errands, Bruce at work, and Molly and Chad staying at the Byrne house for the next few days, Mia had the estate entirely to herself.
Taking full advantage of the quiet, she drove a decent stretch down the private road, finally figuring out how to adjust the rearview mirrors. Through trial and error, she even managed to get the hang of reversing and parallel parking.
Sure enough, without a little tiger cub screaming in her ear, her progress skyrocketed.
She had spent hours watching tutorial videos on her phone, carefully following the steps until her battery completely died.
Meanwhile, to appease his tearful son, Andre bought him a massive burger. Knowing his father's love for fast food, he naturally bought enough for Hansen as well.
In the back of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the privacy partition was up. Grandfather and grandson were happily munching on burgers, dipping fries in ketchup, and watching a new episode of an animated folklore series on the tablet.
Henry had insisted on a double cheeseburger, but his mouth was too small to take a proper bite, so he ended up nibbling at the edges, getting grease all over his chubby cheeks.
Andre pulled the car over, turning around to watch the two of them demolish their food while entirely captivated by the cartoon.
Hansen stopped chewing abruptly. "My mouth hurts."
Andre and Henry both looked at him. "Dad, what's wrong?" "Grandpa, you okay?"
Hansen shook his head, brushing it off. "Probably just eating too fast. I'll chew slower."
"Don't drink any more cold soda," Andre advised. "Have some of the warm milk from Henry's thermos."
"But what will my grandson drink?"
