Chapter 190 Eat Her

Sylvara cracked open the skull of the Swarmborn host. Smokewillow curved, flipped in the air, and shot straight into the host’s chest.
With one pull, she pulled out a clear energy crystal that Smokewillow had wrapped and dropped into her hand.
This crystal was bigger than the one she took from the civilian ship. So… did this Swarmborn host level up again?
She didn’t know if they had changed again, but the black wave of Swarmborn hosts in front of her made her spark with raw excitement. It felt like she was back on ancient times over three thousand years ago, during the zombie outbreak.
She shouted, sharp and hard, “Move!”
The vice commanders who were cutting down the Swarmborn hosts jerked at her roar. They dropped the targets in front of them and leaped back on instinct.
More than thirty Hunting Legion vice commanders jumped away.
Only after they moved did the thought hit them.
Why did one shout from Ms. Feywin make them dodge like trained animals?
Maybe it was because Ms. Feywin was the same kind of human weapon as their commander, so their bodies reacted before they could think.
When they cleared out, Sylvara shot into the back line of the Swarmborn hosts.
The ones chasing the vice commanders turned at once, like they caught the scent of something they craved.
Stiff as robots, they pushed toward the back and rasped out voices like rough sand scraping rock.
“Smells good. So good.”
“Eat. Want to eat. Need a bite.”
“Need a bite. Need a bite.”
Leiya’s face was splashed with Swarmborn blood. He panted hard. “We’re not helping? Can Ms. Feywin handle this?”
Zolensky looked just as bad. “No clue. But if she told us to move, she must have a plan.”
Bane stared at the black wave. “Why are they talking? They used to be silent,”
“What are they calling good? What do they want to eat?”
Carlos snapped out of his daze. “They’re circling Ms. Feywin. They want to eat Ms. Feywin.”
Their faces drained. “What are we waiting for? Move!”

They rushed forward and slammed into an invisible wall that knocked them flat.
“What was that? What shoved us back?” Leiya wiped the blood off his face and pushed up fast.
The others scrambled up too. “No idea. Looks like a barrier. We can’t see it, but it’s there.”

“Look. The Swarmborn hosts are eating Ms. Feywin!” Zolensky pointed at the black mass. They had already
crowded her.
“Use the particle cannons. Break the barrier!” Leiya barked. He pulled a mecha out of his spatial button. “We’re not letting Ms. Feywin die because of us.”
The others dragged out their mecha and climbed in.
They powered up and fired at the barrier with particle shots.
To their shock, the blasts hit the invisible wall and bounced straight back at them.
Thank God all of them were elite pilots. They barely dodged their own shots.
Thirty grown men stood frozen.
What was that thing if even particle cannons couldn’t crack it?
“Look!”
Carlos shouted.
Through their mecha visors, they stared at the Swarmborn hosts.
A round green barrier rose from the ground and trapped the Swarmborn inside. It blocked their view. They could not see anything happening inside it.
Sylvara blinked once at the horde around her and let out a sharp, wicked smile. “Sweethearts, pray you’re as strong as your crown prince.”
Before her words cooled, the nearest host was cut in half by Smokewillow in her right hand. Her left hand kept moving. She dug into the host’s chest and flicked out its energy crystal.
The clumsy hosts only wanted the treat. They wanted the fragrant prey in front of them in their mouths.
They could not see their own kind fall in pieces. They felt no fear. Their minds held one need: swallow the craving that teased their noses.
Sylvara moved like a ghost, a blur. Everywhere she moved, Swarmborn hosts dropped in halves, and she tore the energy crystals from their hearts.
Not one drop of Swarmborn blood touched her.
A few minutes later.
The green barrier fell along with the trees around it. The leaves went from full to dead in one blink.

Sylvara walked out with Smokewillow hanging from her hand. She looked at the thirty huge mecha in front of her and snapped, “Out. Clean the field. Don’t make me drag you out myself.”
Inside the cockpits, the men jolted from their shock and scrambled out in a rush.
None of them doubted it. The cute little terror could rip a mecha open with her bare hands.
“Ms. Feywin, y-you’re okay?” Carlos stammered. He pointed at the piles of rotting bodies, Swarmborn hosts cut in half and stacked like logs. His voice shook with wild excitement. “T-there were almost a thousand of them, right? And you did it in just minutes?”
