Carlos nodded. “Yes. Once the vanguard left Kolar, communication stopped. We could not pull more forces from Kolar. “My idol is terrifying,” Veyric whispered, awe sinking in his bones. Imagining defeating him felt like a bad joke, not even worth considering. “No wonder I am going to worship him forever.”

Sylvara’s mental energy snapped back with force. Her eyes darkened. She barked, “Move.”

She sprinted forward, dragging Veyric with her. “Do not leave my side.”

Veyric followed, his mouth twitching.

She never forgot to swipe nameplates and snatch shoulder badges. The fools from the First Military Academy still had no idea their badges and plates were missing.
