Watching the price shoot up, Auren asked cautiously, “Commander Vaelor, you raised it ten times, and it’s still climbing. Could the person bidding against you be Ms. Sylvie?”

Agares slid his hand from the red button to the white and added another 100 thousand stellar coins. “Nope. She already owns a Smokewillow.”

Auren went quiet.

What if it is her?

Still, he didn’t dare say it out loud.

He leaned over, quietly pulled out his device, typed a short message, and sent it to his idol, Sylvie.

Sylvara glared at the rising numbers, cursing the idiot who had jumped the price tenfold.

So what if you’re loaded? My bargain-bin husband is also rich, okay?

Seeing the bid keep climbing, Phil checked the bidder data.

Only two people were left. One was the person who’d multiplied the price by ten in one go. The other was Sylvara, who had brought a Level-7 Plant Healer’s fruit to auction.

Phil had a feeling Sylvara would end up with the plant.

But the other bidder kept pressing, showing no sign of backing down.

The price hit 550 million.

Sylvara’s device pinged on her wrist. She tapped it fast, eyes narrowing. “Damn it!”

Blake snapped her head around. “What’s wrong?”

Sylvara pulled her hand back from the white button. “Daddy, you said some idiot multiplied the price by ten earlier. Do you know who that idiot is?”

Blake blinked, then pointed up. “Don’t tell me it’s Agares?”

Sylvara smirked. “Congrats, Daddy. You got it.”

Blake was speechless.

The price froze at 552 million.

Phil looked at the number and announced loudly, “Five hundred fifty-two million, first call! Five hundred fifty-two million, second call! Five hundred fifty-two million, third call! Sold!”

“Congrats, Commander Vaelor,” Auren whispered, then couldn’t help adding, “The one competing with you earlier was Ms. Sylvie.”

Agares tilted his head slightly. Even in the darkness, the sharp intensity in his cyes carried overwhelming pressure. “How do you know?”

Auren shivered a bit and answered honestly, “I just messaged Ms. Sylvic. She replied. When she realized the tenfold bid was you, she stopped.”

Agares’ eyes flickered. Right then, his device chimed.

He glanced at the message. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he looked toward Sylvara sitting a tier

below.

“You used that optical computer number to text him. Aren’t you afraid he’ll block you at the exit once the auction ends?” Blake reminded, half-joking, half-concerned. Sylvara really loved living on the edge.

Sylvara shook her wrist, pulling out the device she’d used. “As long as I don’t blow my cover, he can’t catch me. Besides, I used that number to ask him to give me the Smokewillow he just won. I’ll make the money back later.”

That was right.

She’d used Sylvara Mordrel’s optical computer number to text her bargain-bin husband, asking him to hand over the Smokewillow, so she didn’t have to waste money competing.

Blake grinned knowingly. “Alright. I’ll watch you dig yourself into a bigger mess you can’t get

out of.”

Sylvara snorted smugly and turned back to the stage. The third item had already been projected. It was a familiar wide-sleeved Hesperian-style red robe.

Phil announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, the third item up today is a female battle robe.

“It was discovered alongside The Green Whisper and Echoes Behind the Silk Screen. According to the finder, this red robe once belonged to a War Goddess during ancient Earth’s zombie apocalypse.”

War Goddess? Damn!

Sylvara felt like she’d burned through a lifetime of curse words here.

No wonder the robe looked familiar.
