Chapter 339 Seeds

“The third item is seeds.” Phil tapped the little bell. The first two Harvest planets hadn’t caused much excitement, but his voice perked up at the mention of seeds. “There are over 30 types here. We don’t know exactly what each is, but tests show none are mutated, and all are still alive.
“Take a look. These thirty-plus seeds aren’t found anywhere else in our star system. They were discovered with the War Goddess’ clothes, her mount from ancient Earth, her book, and The Green Whisper.
“There are 380 seeds in total. The starting bid is 500 million. Each raise is 100 thousand stellar coins. Bidding starts now!”
In this era, seeds were the rarest treasure-especially seeds that weren’t mutated.
The first two Harvest planets barely stirred interest.
The seeds, however, did.
Growers and researchers across the hall were all after them.
The price was also brutal.
Sylvara squinted at the projection. Among the thirty-plus seeds, some were vegetables, and a few were fruits she had actually eaten before.
She could make plants sprout without soil, using solely her mental energy. So when she went zombie-hunting, she collected every kind of plant seed she could find, including fruits she had
eaten.
Logically, she should have had far more than 30 types. Hesperian fruits and vegetables were practically endless. Even if she hadn’t gathered everything, she should have had at least 100 kinds.
So why were only 30-plus up for auction? Had the auction house held the rest back?
“Think it’s worth bidding on?” Agares suddenly asked, his voice low and rough. Then he added, “Level-7 Plant Healer?”
His smoky tone made Sylvara shiver. She couldn’t help but think he was doing it on purpose.
Blake immediately asked, “Sweetheart, with your planting experience, is it worth it?”
Sylvara was speechless.
She had no farming experience. She only accelerated growth with mental energy.

“Yeah, it’s worth it. Just pricey,” Sylvara said. “The price is already 800 million. Maybe it’s not worth it.”
Thirty-plus types, over 300 seeds.
At this rate, the bid could easily hit a billion.
Actually, just one of each seed would let her grow them instantly and make more seeds. Agares watched her from the shadows. Slowly, he said, “If you say it’s worth it, then it must be.”
Sylvara instantly remembered how hard he had bid against her for Smokewillow. Afraid he’d raise the bid tenfold again, she leaned toward him. “Even if it’s worth it, don’t go crazy-just raise it by 100,000 each time. Making money isn’t easy. Save some for your wife!”
Her body, faintly scented with herbs, suddenly leaned closer.
Agares tensed, gripping the armrest of his chair and tapping it slowly. “My wife doesn’t need me to support her. Right?”
Sylvara straightened instantly.
Big mouth. Serves you right.
She hadn’t revealed anything.
She was still under his wife’s “bestie” halo-she couldn’t boss him around for
money.
His
money wasn’t her business.
Still, she played along smoothly. “Right. Your wife doesn’t need your money. She’s amazing.”
Agares nodded. “She is. Other than checking our shared account at the start of the semester and buying some ingredients, she hasn’t spent a single cent of mine.
“Instead, she streams, cooks, and tips have brought close to 20 million stellar coins into our
account.
“With a wife like that, I don’t need to save money for her. As her friend, don’t you think that if she keeps it up, she could end up supporting me?”
Sylvara went quiet.
Is he really Empire Light?
The same guy steel-straight enough to withstand a mortar launcher?
