Sylvara glanced at Agares, who was sitting with Blake, and said, “This is for a friend of mine. I’m just taking it down for him.”
Phil didn’t dare ask further, fearing the saber in her hands might strike him. “I see. In that case, please go rest first. I’ll be there shortly.”
Sylvara held the saber in one hand, the Smokewillow itself cradled in the other, and descended the stage calmly, without hurry or panic.
As soon as she left, the oppressive aura of blood and menace that had filled the hall vanished instantly.
Those with weaker mental or physical strength felt as if they had been underwater and were now breathing freely. They all relaxed visibly.
Phil patted his chest. The saber truly had belonged to a War Goddess. Even rusted, its edge gleamed sharply. Not only did it carry mental energy, but it also radiated a deadly presence and the scent of blood.
Taking a deep breath, Phil’s voice trembled as he addressed the audience. “Esteemed guests, the last lot of the second half of today’s auction has concluded. We will have a fifteen-minute break. Afterward, we will hold the final highlight auction. The Level-7 Plant Healer cultivated the fruits up for bidding, so please have your stellar coins ready. Thank you.”
He quickly turned off the stage lights and stepped back.
The auction staff immediately moved in, taking advantage of the darkness to remove the bodies from the stage and wipe away the blood.
Sylvara descended to the floor and waited. When Phil arrived, she said, “Mr. Tomlinson, is the person in charge of the auction still here? I’d like to speak with him. Could you arrange a room and ask him to meet me?”
Phil bent slightly in deference. “Of course, of course, Ms Feywin, please follow me.”
He led her to a lavish meeting room to rest while he went to summon the manager.
Sylvara placed the Smokewillow on the table. Before she could even touch it, the meeting room door opened. Agares and Blake, along with Auren, were escorted in by the auction staff.
Blake hurried forward, overacting, her theatrics fully on display. “Sweetheart! Are you okay? Are you hurt? You were just facing them head-on. How could I live if anything had happened to you?”
Sylvara rolled her eyes.
Overacting much?
Auren did not say anything too.
Blake’s sense of danger seemed entirely absent.
The one being obliterated wasn’t her-she hadn’t even lost a hair, despite being shot at and having her throat targeted.
Sylvara held the saber horizontally. “Daddy, I’ve been gravely injured. Don’t come near me, or I’ll splatter you with blood.”

Blake’s step faltered. She pressed against the flat of the saber. “I don’t care about the blood. Just put the blade away! I want to live a few more years without having my throat cut!”
The saber radiated such lethal force that anyone approaching it was repelled. Had Blake not absorbed Sylvara’s mental energy, even she might have been hurt by its aura.
Sylvara lowered the saber slightly, casting a glance at her bargain-bin husband. Then, she smiled at Blake. “I’d love to put it away, but without a scabbard, it’ll rust. Out of 288 sharpening stones, I’ve already used 25. Every time I use it, it’s another stone. I’m not made of money.”
Blake’s eyes widened. “What’s wrong? Your husband has money, so just spend it freely…”
“You can find the scabbard.” Agares stood like a pine, rigid as stone, calmly cutting off Blake’s words. He looked at Sylvara and said, “The scabbard is in this room.”
Sylvara grinned like sunlight. “Excellent eye, Your Highness. The scabbard is in this room. I wonder, will you relinquish it or keep it for yourself?”
Blake gasped.
What’s in this room?
A potted plant floating in midair?
