Chapter 391 Tightening Military Discipline

Callam asked with concern. “We can’t catch up, but General Kenobia and Ms. Sylvie are on that ship. What if they fall into Red Brows’ hands?”
Agares’s gaze turned cold. “General Kenobia has been fighting bandits for years. Do you not trust his abilities? Or have you forgotten that just now Ms. Sylvie merely drew her blade, hadn’t even struck yet, and you already couldn’t stand steady?”
Callam thought, that wasn’t it. Hadn’t Velyric told him that Sylvara’s physical power was H-grade, she had no mental energy, and aside from cooking delicious food, she was too delicate to take care of herself? What was the Commander trying to say? That he couldn’t even beat Sylvara’s blade?
His voice deepened, speaking with righteous conviction “Commander Vaelor, I don’t know Ms. Sylvie very well, but rest assured, after she gets divorced, I’ll get to know her properly.”
Agares slowly rolled up his sleeves. “General Cohen, we have about an hour and a half until we reach Kolar planet. Come with me to the training grounds.”
Callam’s eyes lit up. “Commander Vaelor, are you going to teach us combat?”
The Commander was undefeated throughout the military. No one had ever successfully challenged him. For him to teach now would be an honor for them as subordinates and soldiers.
Agares finished rolling up his sleeves. “Yes, I’ll teach you combat, and while I’m at it, tighten up the Roseblade Legion’s military discipline.”
Callam asked with confusion, “Military discipline?” Hadn’t they just tightened discipline recently?
Agares glanced at him and walked past, saying as he went, “Yes, the Roseblade Legion’s military discipline is deeply disappointing. If we don’t tighten it up, we’ll have another incident like the Five Military Academies freshman training, where you sent people like First Battalion Captain Moss-little ability but plenty of arrogance, causing civilians to lose trust in the military.”
Callam thought, hadn’t that incident already passed? Brigan had been fined, stripped of his rank, and was now doing hard labor on a barren planet.
“Blake, who are you calling?” After surveying the terrain and making a circuit back, Sylvara saw Blake with her hand on her device and asked.
Her expression remained unchanged, steady as a rock. “I’m messaging His Majesty. Lately the bandits in the interstellar lanes have been particularly rampant. First Bluebeard, now Red Brows. This matter…”
“Fine.” Seeing his bargain-bin daughter staring at him, Blake changed tack and started defending herself. “I really didn’t call Red Brows’ bandits here. They normally don’t appear in the Eleventh Sector, only outside of it. I was surprised by their sudden appearance too.”
Sylvara walked up to her and grabbed her collar. “You bastard, does Agares know I’m his wife?”
Blake sucked in a breath and asked incredulously, “Agares knows you’re his wife? What made you think that?”
Sylvara’s brow furrowed. “You bastard, are you playing dumb on purpose?”

Blake quickly raised her hands. “Kid, you can’t say that. Your husband is as dense as they come. His emotional intelligence is so low it would trip you if you stepped on it. I don’t think just from picking up on details he could possibly know you’re his wife.
“Your cover and his wife’s cover are absolutely intact. So you can keep bouncing around, bounce as much as you want. It’s fine.”
Sylvara gripped his collar harder and said coldly, “I dont trust you.”
Blake’s neck hurt from the collar digging in as she raised her hands. “Kid, I admit our father-daughter bond is as flimsy as plastic-here today, gone tomorrow. But think about it, I’ve known that troublemaker for over 30 years, and he still hasn’t figured out any of my identities. He doesn’t even suspect.
“How long have you even known him? You think his emotional intelligence is high enough to connect you with the H-grade physical power, no mental energy, delicate wife he registered with?
“And worst case scenario, if he knew you were his wife, with your strength, wouldn’t he just drag you directly to Centria planet for a divorce? Wouldn’t that be faster?”
Sylvara fell silent for a moment. That bastard… had a point.
That bastard was a General, was the Empress, was a court official-all these identities mixed together, and Agares hadn’t figured out a single one. Her cover as his wife probably hadn’t been blown in front of him either.
