Sylvara's Rebirth A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 54

**Chapter 54: Invasion**

“Given that she sent this to you, it clearly indicates that she has willingly acknowledged that marriage. You have no grounds to seek a divorce.”

Agares’s hand fell limply to his side, his fingers curling slightly as if trying to grasp at something intangible.

He had lost his composure, and it was evident.

Far too much.

Clearing his throat, he made an effort to wipe away the last remnants of embarrassment that clung to his face like a stubborn shadow. With a voice that was as expressionless as a stone, he stated, “Regardless of her willingness, my capacity for fatherhood is nonexistent. I cannot take away her right to experience motherhood.”

Relos felt a surge of frustration boiling within him, nearly exploding. “What do you mean you’re depriving her of motherhood? Maybe she doesn’t even want to be a mother—maybe all she desires is you, Agares!”

Agares’s ears flushed an even deeper shade of red, and his voice turned icier. “Your Majesty, the staggering 98% annual divorce rate in the Empire is primarily due to issues surrounding children. We needn’t deceive ourselves.”

This brat.

If only Relos had the physical advantage, he would have gladly given him a piece of his mind right then and there.

Taking a deep breath, he shoved the note back into Agares’s hand while his other hand reached for the plate of lemon chicken. Abruptly, he changed the subject, “Agares, did you know that lemon chicken has taken the entire Starnet by storm over the last two hours?”

“People online are speculating it was created by a student or a teacher from the Fifth Military Academy. And now—this very plate is right in front of you. What does that suggest to you?”

Agares’s sharp, obsidian gaze intensified, and the note in his hand felt scalding, almost slipping from his grip. “Your Majesty, you mean—”

He had been so taken aback by that single “honey”—so rattled by that “love and kisses”—that he had momentarily lost his ability to think clearly.

Relos nodded emphatically. “Your new wife has access to lemons. She can cook with them. This alone signifies she is knowledgeable about the Level-7 Plant Healer.”

“And the fact that she sent all this to you further indicates she genuinely cares for you and wishes to help heal your genetic breakdown. Once that issue is addressed, your fertility value could very well improve.”

Agares’s voice was as chilling as a bucket of ice water thrown over him. “There is no scientific evidence supporting the notion that treating a genetic breakdown enhances fertility value.”

“Even if Sylvara is acquainted with the Plant Healer, she could very well become a healer herself. The possibilities are limitless. She wouldn’t need a husband with a fertility value of zero.”

Agares did not reach for the box. Instead, he locked eyes with Relos, his expression serious. “Your Majesty, if you truly wish for my well-being, please exercise your royal privilege to annul my marriage to Sylvara Mordrel. My only duty is to protect the Troya Empire. I do not require a wife.”

Relos immediately grasped the weight of Agares’s words. If he hadn’t summoned Agares back, the Swarmborn would not have dared to launch such an attack. Had Agares remained on Kolar, there would have been no invasion.

“I do not regret this.” Relos met his brother’s gaze directly, unyielding in his stance. “I am the Emperor of the Troya Empire—and I am also your brother. You are the Empire’s shield, and you are my family. I want my brother to be happy, to have someone by his side. I am not mistaken.”

Agares lowered his gaze, avoiding the intensity of his brother’s stare. “Take care, Your Majesty.”

With a brisk gust of wind swirling around him, he turned sharply and strode away.

Relos rushed forward, shoving the food box into Agares’s aircraft and shutting the hatch with a determined click.

The aircraft shot upward into the night sky, disappearing into the darkness.

Relos gazed up at the pitch-black heavens, murmuring softly, “I have done nothing wrong… I want the Empire to flourish. And I want my brother to be well.”

“You’re right. You have never been wrong.” A hand, not delicate nor soft, but firm and weathered, settled on his shoulder. “Agares will come to understand you.”
