Chapter 112

BEATRICE

Avery didn’t stay for long after Beatrice finished her little speech. It was for the best, as the human was not in the mood to entertain unwanted guests

Riaghaire…

Beatrice was worried about him the most. He’d been up against six vampires – one of whom was Old and Powerful and four wolves Sure, he was The Riaghaire, but that didn’t mean he was invincible, regardless of how she saw him.

Beatrice took a deep breath as her pacing came to a stop. It didn’t change her current predicament; she was still in the wolves’ custody. The smart thing to do would be to act as though there was no chance of rescue, that way if Riaghaire hadn’t… if he was… Nope, she couldn’t even bring herself to think it. He was fine. He’d bested them all and was on his way to get her right that instant.

She should, of course, still pretend like he wasn’t – like she was on her own – and work on getting herself the fuck away from the wolves.

A few hours of mulling over her options proved to be a fruitless effort. It didn’t help that she was trapped in this reom and bored out of her ever loving

mind.

Sprawled on the bed, she’d been busy staring at the ceiling when a knock at the door drew her attention. Why bother knocking? it wasn’t like she had any privacy, what with the damn hole in the wall thanks to Tweedledick.

“Go away,” she called out, too bored to deal with anyone, especially whatever wolf was there.

The door opened. Of course they didn’t listen; when did they ever? It was the wolf who’d sat shotgun during her first kidnapping – before she’d known wolves were a thing. Tweedledum, she’d called him. “Time to go,” he told her, vojce rough.

“No thanks,” she replied, returning her gaze to the ceiling. “I’ll pass.”

There was a couple seconds of silence before she heard the wolf venture closer, then the bed sank as he got on it.

Oh hell to the no, she thought as she bolted upright. This was what he’d wanted, as he used the momentum of her sitting up to somehow them bet shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

1 “Fuck this. Put me down right now,” she snapped, beating her fists against his back, which did nothing to stop him from walking out the con at the the

hall.

treat her be especially some backing woll A smirking Tweedledick stood by the open door as they passed, making Beatrice’s desire to do something she’d regret all the saungger Yeah, the wax fig her anger and frustration get the best of her, but she’d be damned if she let anyone

Hitting Tweedledumn’s back wasn’t doing anything, so she switched tactics Since she couldn’t hurt hims honestly, she was above what she was about to do but, desperate times, desperate measures and all that

Beatrice grabbed the seat of the wolf’s pants and pulled them up as fast and hard as she could Wedgie, she shouted in her head An instant later, she was flipped over said wolf’s shoulder. Her crash to the floor was anything but elegant

“You little, bitch,” Tweedledum growled as he whipped around to glare at Beatrice.

“I told you to put me down,” she replied, voice sharp. “If you won’t listen then whatever happens is your own fault”

His fary? hand clamped itself around her throat, lifting her body off the door. Beatrice couldn’t believe he was resorting to this sort of treatment Maset she supposed to be their Luna or whatever? Or… had her telling Hendricks she’d nevet love him finally gotten through and he no longer cared hinge the was

treated?

Maybe she’d taken it a little too far this time. Maybe. Just a little

The edges of her vision had begun to fade when Tweedledick appeared, placing his rand on the other wolf’s arm. “Enough, “on”

Tweedledum – real name Ron, not that it mattered – relented under his Beta’s orders, opening his hand and letting her fall to the ground
