Take Me Once, I'll Bleed You Twice novel Chapter 208

Chapter 208

“Alright. I can do that.” Donovan was still giving Beatrice a weird look, as though he couldn’t quite figure her out.

Yes, she was upfront about where she stood with people and her petty side could be a bit much, but she wasn’t mean for the sake of being mean. She didr hit people when they were down. At least, she didn’t think she did..

“What about the Beta?” Donovan asked, freeing Beatrice from the rabbit hole her mind had begun to fall into.

“He’s a bit more complicated,” Beatrice hedged, shifting awkwardly at the looks Claire and Donovan were sending her way.

It took her a while to explain how she’d concluded that Benedict had – mostly been acting as the Beta he’d been raised to be. That, yes, he’d done all those things, but it was also how he’d been programmed to act since birth. The fact he’d broken free from it on his own, showing both guilt and remorse, had to be taken into consideration. He wasn’t blameless and should pay a price, but his circumstances also had to be taken into account.

“I see,” the Alpha slowly nodded. “You aren’t wrong. A lot of packs have that mentality – where you’re raised to fill a specific role and that’s all that matters. Alpha wolves tend to be raised as leaders from birth, which can cause issues when you have a child or hormonal teenager thinking they can order anyone around without consequence.”

“Well there aren’t really any consequences, are there?” Beatrice pointed out. “Not when everyone knows the to-be-Alpha will be given absolute authority one day. No-one wants to chance their future Alpha holding a grudge against them.”

“True, but it also builds resentment in a pack – a slow acting poison that can, and will, tear it apart from the inside.”

“Do you think the Bluemoon pack was falling apart before I got roped into everything?”

Donovan shrugged. “It’s hard to know. The Bluemoon wolves who joined my pack haven’t said much yet but, in time, I’m sure I’ll be given a better picture how life was for them.”

“Nice. But back to the former Beta. I’ve decided his punishment is to be your lackey.”

The Alpha stared at her for a long moment. “Excuse me?”

Beatrice gave him a wide smile. “He was trained to be a Beta wolf without any boundaries for himself. Why not teach hun how to be a god the being honest, I hate your actual Beta. If I had to choose between the two? I’d honestly probably choose Benedict over Polyps, why not make he competition to see who’s the better Beta.”

For another long moment Donovan was quiet. He eventually took a deep breath before slowly exhaling Beta Phillips bed in the shat hom with the Master

Chapter 208-

Beatrice was quiet for a second, a sudden thought coming to mind. “Well… Why not train Benedict to take on the role?”

“Seriously, Bea?” Claire exclaimed. “You cannot be serious.”

“Think about it,” Beatrice offered. “He wants redemption and we can offer it. He’s not a completely horrible guy for the most part – and deserves to get a chance at living a semi-decent life that isn’t ruled by some arrogant, selfish asshole. And a bunch of Bluemoor wolves are now in Donovan’s pack; having someone they know in a position of power might help them feel more comfortable with all the changes they’re being forced to go through.

“Obviously you shouldn’t tell him about the end goal. Make him think he gets to play errand boy or whatever and slowly work him into the role if things go well. Force him to work from the bottom up.”
