Take Me Once, I'll Bleed You Twice novel Chapter 24

The house’s basement was full of carefully storedthings. Whoever organized the room had done an amazing job; labels, specific areas for specific things, shelving units galoreIt was an organizer’s dream.

So, where’s my stuff being stored?

Calm down,Benedict told her, pointing towards a far corner, where a row of doors lined the walls. That’s the storage area. Any family can use one of the rooms available if needed. We stored your things in one of them.

When they reached said part of the storage area, he stepped up to one of the doors and opened it without a word. Beatrice peeked into the room and felt her eyes grow wide as she took in the sight.

They’d really brought everything. The furniture was all there everything from her bed to the curtain rods. It was fortunate she’d lived in a small studio apartment, because they’d have needed multiple rooms to store all the crap they’d stolen otherwise

A smile tugged at the corner of Beatrice’s mouth as she tried to fight the laughter that threatened to come out. This was amazing. She couldn’t have planned it better if she’d tried.

Benedict caught on to her seemingly random amusement and asked, What’s so funny? His tone was sharp but that didn’t bother her in the least.

You,Beatrice managed to say before her laughter burst free, forcing her to sit on the floor as she fought to breathe. You fucking idiots, she gasped after a while. None of the ffurniture in my apartment is mine, you ddumbass. The place came ffully furnished. You just stole all my landlord’s shit. How is

that nnot hilarious? Not only were they kidnappers, but they were now thieves, too. Sometimes life had these beautiful moments that brought real joy into

the world; this was one such moment, and Beatrice was glad she’d been there to witness it.

Sort of.

Ahh, this is incredible, she giggled, wiping the tears from her eyes. I hope he calls the cops. What were the chances they cleaned everything up after moving all her things? Would there be traces left behind that might lead the authorities to this place? That would be icing on the cake, if they had. God, she

hoped they had.

There was a pained look on Benedict’s face as he glanced around the room. Are you being serious right now?

Ijust a sec,she told him, still giggling as she returned to her feet and made her way through the room. It didn’t take long to find the small filing cabinet amongst her landlord’s things. From within, she pulled out a few papers held together by a staple. Making her way back to Benedict, she offered him the papers as she said, Here. My lease. It specifically states that the place comes furnished and, upon termination of the lease, I’m to leave it all behind for the

next tenant.

It took him a minute to scan over the document, his lips pursing like he’d swallowed something sour. Beatrice couldn’t keep the grin off her face as she watched. This had been a magical experience. Definitely one for the books.

So, what’s the plan? Gonna return the shit that’s not mine? Or will you send my landlord a check for whatever it’s all worth.Beatrice was curious to know

what they planned to do.

Them taking it in the first place meant they probably didn’t tell the landlord what they were up to until after the fact. Returning it meant they’d run into the guy, and he’d have a lot of questions. If they just sent him money, it’s possible the transaction could be traced back to the pack; this meant if someone figured out she was missing, it would be a nice little trail for them to follow.

Either way, it meant these damn mutts had made a mistake. Beatrice just needed someone to question why she’d missed work two days in a row preferably before she got fired, thanks and sound the alarm.
