Take Me Once, I'll Bleed You Twice novel Chapter 61

BEATRICE

Beatrice never enjoyed being forced to wait. At least, not when she could be sleeping. It was almost midnight and, though she hadn’t done much the she also hadn’t gotten enough sleep. When was this damn Alpha going to show up?

Lost in her own thoughts and still nursing the blue drink Claire had mixed, Beatrice didn’t notice when Riaghaire suddenly became alert. She only r something was off when a large man took the stool on her other side. She watched him out of the corner of her eye as he looked towards the barten held a finger up. Less than three seconds later, a tall glass filled with an amber liquid was placed on the bar top in front of him.

She debated getting up and pretending to go to the restroom, if only to make this asshole wait for a fraction of the time she’d been for she decided to wait him out right there at the bar. How long would it take for him to start talking? If he was expecting her to break i be sitting in silence for a long ass time.

You’re human,he finally said, voice a deep baritone.

So observant, she quipped. You want a gold star?

The man let out a bark of laughter before turning to face Beatrice. I am Donovan, Alpha of the Mchezaji Pack.

The what?Beatrice asked before she could stop herself. The man, Donovan, practically blended into with the shadows, his skin was so dark. A flash white told her the question had gotten a toothy grin out of him. It looked like he had his hair pulled back but she couldn’t tell if it was with braids,

dreadlocks, or just sheer force of will keeping it under control.

Mchezaji. It roughly translates to howler,he explained.

I’m just going to use that, then.

Another flash of white. Bold of you to assume I’ll allow it.

Bold of you to assume I have any respect for an Alphass.

Another loud bark of laughter came from him. My, oh my, don’t you have a mouth on you. If you’d been born a wolf, you would definitely su the upper ranks.

I’ll take that as an insult, she muttered, knowing he’d hear every word.

Oh? How is that an insult? Most of my kind dream of being at the top, and humans are much the same, are they?

Maybe some are but I most definitely am not,she toki him, tapping her finger against the con of her nearly empty glass to talk to me.There was no need to phrase it as a question, as they both knew the answer

That depends, she began, turning her head just enough to partially face hum What do you plan to do il tam?

He cocked his head to one side, much like a dog would, and narrowed his eyes just a little would be.

Chapter 61-

So, are we going to talk in hypotheticals all night, or will you get to

the point?

So feisty,he snickered, motioning Claire to come over. Get her another one of whatever she’s drinking.

She cut me off like two hours ago, Beatrice replied before her friend could. Three shots and she called it quits for me.

Because you should be sober,Claire snapped in response as she mixed another drink for the greeneyed human. And I only out you off for en moet

Fine, but get him another, too,Beatrice instructed, jerking her thumb at Riaghaire, who gave her a quizzical look.

Donovan glanced around her to the vampire with a look of mild surprise. What, he thought the vampire sitting next to her was just sim no. And who is that?

You can call him Ryan, she told him, turning her back to the wolf so she could speak to Riaghaire. Is there a specific kind you want of should

you?

The vampire grinned. Surprise me.

You heard the man,Beatrice told Claire. Surprise him. Wolfman here is paying.

I never said I was going to pay,Donovan countered, now looking annoyed. You’ve long since used up what little patience I have. Tread lightly, human

What’s your stance on rape, she asked him without any lead up, catching the large man off guard.
