Chapter 67
BEATRICE
Beatrice excused herself to the restroom, wanting nothing more than to end the conversation and for Donovan to leave. She may have been a fair than she’d originally intended, but every wolf she’d ever met hadn’t been capable of listening. It was a surprise they could survive as a species, wh the brick wall preventing oxygen from reaching their brains. She was done trying to break through it so they’d understand her perspective.
Fortunately, needing help and not getting any was something she’d long since gotten used to. Why she bothered reaching out to others, in hopes t reason was baffling. She knew how people were and yet still gave them a chance to do better.
She was so stupid.
The restroom had three stalls and she took the one furthest from the door. After finishing her business she washed her hands, looking up in the mirror. She looked as exhausted as she felt. If things continued to escalate, how long would it be before she ran out of steam? Yes; she was on most stubborn people you’d ever meet, but everyone had a limit. Would she reach hers before it was too late?
Beatrice closed her eyes and let out a breath. Now wasn’t the time to worry about that. Focus on the present and worry about the future some other

The second her mom got back from her yearly, third–week–of–may–vacation–w that’s what it was called by her own mother – shit would hit the fan between them. They got along better the less they interacted. Not to mention, ha
she going to explain Riaghaire? Yeah, no, it was best to avoid dealing with the woman entirely.
The restroom door opened with a small squeak and Claire stepped in, pushing it closed by leaning against it. “Bea…”
“I’m not in the mood for a lecture, Claire,” she told her friend with a sigh. How many times had she explained herself these last few days” Far too many
“How are you holding up?”
Beatrice blinked, looking over at her friend. “Huh?”
“I realized that I never actually asked how you’re doing,” she explained, a pained look on her face. Some friend I am, huh? I was
