“I feel like it wouldn’t just be humans who think that,” she countered with a smirk. “You outran those wolves.”
“Ah… that was due to the terrain more than speed,” he explained, following her through the apartment. “Without obstacles, they would have overtake
Beatrice shrugged. “Yeah, maybe, but you weren’t in top form either. Once you’re back at a hundred percent, would that still be true?”
The vampire paused, watching as she entered the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. “It is… possible.”
“Exactly,” she grinned, leaving the kitchen and venturing down the hall to where three doors stood oper. One was the bathroom, the other bedrooms. Beatrice turned into the smaller of the two, flicking on the overhead light as she passed through the doorway.
After setting the glass on the bedside table, she allowed herself to fall face first onto the double bed before letting out a loud groan. “Sleeeeeeep”

“Here,” she offered, holding out the stack of books. “Hopefully there’s one you’ll like.”
“I thank you,” he replied, taking the books and looking through them. She waited to see he would say something but his silence othed on alles m finished looking them over.
