The Master vampire turned in her seat, lifting her legs over the beach before rising to her feet with an elegance that belayed the strength hidden just under the surface
Riaghere noted she was tall for a woman and curvy. This was a surprise, as most vampires preferred a more lean appearance; it required less upkeep. To find one with an excess of flesh was… abnormal.
The Master vampire wore a sundress the same colour as her skin – vibrant white. It screamed of innocence, that she could not possibly be a threat. Of course, Riaghaire knew the opposite was the truth. She was not innocent, she was a threat; she was the epitome of danger.
“We had a choice?,” Beatrice replied, sounding almost bored.
The Master giggled. “How very true. I am Edyth, Master of this city’s brood.”
“I’m Beatrice and this is Riaghaire.”
“Riaghaire?” Master Edyth repeated, a curious look spreading over her face. “So the rumours are true. To think… The Riaghaire has been tamed. How far you
have fallen, my old friend.”
Out of the corner of his eye, Riaghaire noted his gréine had stiffened at his being called an old friend. “Old friend?,” he repeated after a moment. “I do not
believe we have ever met, Master Edyth.”
“Is that so?,” she practically crooned. In the blink of an eye she stood in front of him, pressing a perfectly manicured hand against his chest as she leaned in
close. “I am offended you don’t remember me.”
“There is nothing to remember,” he replied, not liking how the Master was intruding into his personal space and touching him permitted to do such a thing. He brushed her hand away without letting anything show on his face. “We have never met.”
no-one but his greine was
“Hmmm,” Master Edyth hummed, licking her lips as she took a step back. “I am intrigued. This is not what I’d anticipated when I asked you to come.”
“So, what do you want to know?” Beatrice asked, annoyance clear in her voice.
Edyth barely spared his gréine a glance, choosing instead to focus on Riaghaire. “Tell me. What about this… buman… is so enticing to allow someone such
as yourself to be tamed?”
“That is no concern of yours” was his response. Being called tamed was irksome but, if it was in regard to his greine, it didn’t bother him in the least. Let
her call them master and slave for all he cared.
A coy smile spread over the Master vampire’s face “Oh, playing hard to get? I do like a good challenge” In an instant, her attention was on Beatrice “Tell me, little girl, what did you promise this one in return for his services?”
Now that Master Edyth’s attention was on his gréine, Riaghaire allowed himself to take note of huis human’s expression.
Beatrice kept her gaze locked firmly on the Master vampire’s shoulders to avoid being mesmered and appeared unhothered. “Not a single thing.” The best part about her answer? It was the truth, and that brought a warm feeling to Riaghaire’s heart She truly had done nothing out of the ordinary for him to

How do stay by her side. He was glad they’d had that conversation and he’d been able to convey his feelings towards her, if only so she could answer this
estion in such a way.
Edyth frowned. Quick as a flash, shoked a finger onder his gréines chin and forced her head back. “Look at me, human.”
Riaghaire reacted just as fast but was unable to land the strike he’d thrown. It did, however, force the Master vampire to jump back.
“So you do protect her without regard to your own existence, Master Edyth noted, voice thoughtful. “How interesting. Yes… I believe I understand now.”
What, exactly, did she think she understood, Riaghaire wondered as he placed himself between the vampire and his gréine. It was unlikely the Master vampire understood anything about his relationship with Beatrice.
“Great I’m so glad you understand. Does that mean we can go?” Beatrice’s tongue was as sharp as ever, saying what needed to be said without regard to
propriety.
The Master vampire let out a throaty laugh, covering her mouth with a hand. “Of course not. I still have so many questions.”

Take Me Once I’ll Bleed You Twice
Chapter 109
An audible sigh came from his gress, one that said she’d been hoping for a different answer.
“For example, I’m curious if the real Riaghaise knows this imposter has been using his name?”
Riaghaire could feel everyone’s gaze of him but he didn’t flinch. This woman was spouting lies meant to cause his gréine to distance herself from him. It wouldn’t work. The wolves, however… He noted a shift in them but couldn’t spare any extra attention – they were not the biggest threat in the room.
“Mmm, seems you didn’t know,” Master Edyth continued after taking note of everyone’s reaction, a smirk on her face as she lowered her hand. “You see, I’ve met The Riaghaire – the real Riaghaire – a number of times and this vampire isn’t him.”
“I am Riaghaire,” Riaghaire said, annoyed that she was insisting on something that was not true. His instincts were telling him the wolves at his back would soon be a problem if things continued. If they believed he wasn’t the wolf executioner – The Riaghaire – it would cause problems. Yes, they were there because his gréine promised to help remove the ban at Kaleidoscope, but that didn’t mean his presence wasn’t preventing them from doing something stupid.
“No, you are not. The real Riaghaire is far more…” Master Edyth took a deep breath before continuing. “Far more powerful. More beautiful. More… well, you just can’t compare to him.”
