Chapter 15 The Easy Mark
“Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance to get rich!”
Finished
“Hurry up! Put more money into buying up those Hanks Group call options from the retail guys–make sure we grab everything we can from Vex! Don’t let anyone else beat us to it!”
“This is a huge catch!”
“Come on, quick! Anyone holding Hanks Group call options, sell them now while you still can!”
“Otherwise, when the stock hits the floor tomorrow, they’re going to be worthless.”
Within just a few hours, Isabella’s account, Vex, had become something of a legend in the financial markets.
Nicknames like “DumbVex,” “TheEasyMark,” and “FreshMeat” were flying around everywhere.
Meanwhile, Isabella kept piling up more and more Hanks Group call options.
And her holdings of Hanks Group stock grew steadily, too.
Everyone was convinced she was a complete idiot, just throwing money away in the market.
Over at Powell Group, Adrian heard about what was going on.
He lowered his gaze slightly, his eyes cool and detached. “Ignore it. It’s probably someone Edward sent to stir things up.”
He let out a short laugh, smiling coldly as he stated with certainty, “Hanks Group stock is going to tank tomorrow morning.
“Don’t let these kinds of distractions pull your focus.
“Your job is to figure out how to secure the biggest possible gains for the Powell family in this joint effort to take down Hanks Group.
“That’s exactly why I called all of you in to work late tonight.
ľ
“When the market opens tomorrow morning, I want to take the largest slice out of Hanks Group.
“Make sure you’re fully prepared.
“As for these stupid, brainless sideshows in the market, don’t bother reporting them to me again.”
Whether this Vex was genuinely clueless or just some distraction Edward had thrown out there, Adrian’s confidence never wavered.
He trusted only his own judgment.
Nothing and no one could shake his decisions.

Chapter 15–The–Easy Mark
“Yes, Mr. Powell.”
All the members of the elite team at Powell Group responded in unison.
They were energized and focused, making their final preparations for the next day’s market open.
Finished
Massive amounts of capital flowed into the short positions Powell Group had set up, ready to reap huge profits the moment trading started the next morning.
Meanwhile, over at Hanks Group.
Edward stayed calm.
He raised an eyebrow slightly. “Someone in the market is aggressively buying up Hanks Group call options?”
“Yes,” his staff replied. “So far, they’ve picked up over thirty percent of the available long positions.
“Mr. Hanks, should we do something?”
Hanks Group had already mapped out how they were going to handle the next day’s market open.
The current weakness was only temporary.
When trading started in the morning, everyone betting against Hanks Group was going to get hit hard.
But this sudden appearance of Vex might throw a wrench in their strategy.
“No need,” Edward said, shaking his head. “Let it play out.”
In fact, having someone stirring things up like this might actually work in Hanks Group’s favor.
Edward was just curious–why was this person so confident about Hanks Group?
Truth was, if it hadn’t been for that Deity on the Darknet recovering his lost core data earlier today, Hanks Group would have been in serious trouble with no way to fight back.
Edward felt a flicker of curiosity, but he continued giving orders calmly.

‘Make sure all the funds are ready. As soon as the market opens tomorrow, release the positive announcements and launch the full stock buyback plan.
“I want those people to have nowhere to run.”
His expression sharpened, and behind his silver–rimmed glasses, a chilling coldness showed through.
