Chapter 191 Mia’s Threat
Finished
Isabella and Noah had taken a table way in the back, with hardly anyone sitting close by. They weren’t speaking up much, either-if Hannah hadn’t been watching them like a hawk and practically leaning in to catch every whisper, she wouldn’t have even made out the word “teacher”.
While Hannah was busy twisting things around in her head, Mia jabbed her in the arm and said flatly, “You’re walking home with me after school.”
Mia’s expression was downright awful.
Marcus had told her to bring Hannah back to their place.
Hannah had been kicked out by Isaac, and Adrian was buried in work-way too busy to clean up the Powells’ mess right now. Not to mention, he definitely wasn’t about to pick a fight with Isaac over Hannah.
So when he heard Hannah had been thrown out, he just frowned a little and told Marcus and the others to let Hannah crash with them for a while.
It wouldn’t look good, after all, if the Powells’ so-called daughter ended up on the streets.
Besides, Adrian did have a soft spot for his little adopted sister. To him, Hannah was kind of like the family pet-well-behaved, obedient, and someone who made the Powells look good. Why would he have a problem with her?
But lately, Hannah had been stepping out of line, so he figured it was time to put her in her place first.
He’d heard that Mia used to be pretty tight with Hannah, so he arranged for Hannah to stay over there for a bit.
Once he cleared his own plate, he’d smooth things over at home.
As for Daniel, he wasn’t taking sides and sure wasn’t going to cross Isaac.
When Hannah heard Mia, a wave of self-pity washed over her.
She’d called Adrian to pour her heart out, expecting he’d at least let her stay in one of the other family villas-maybe even put one in her name, so she’d have something solid to fall back on.
But instead, he was shipping her off to the Bexleys.
