A Superpowered Warrior in a Fake Heiress’s Body
Chapter 268 A Fractured Empire
Just thinking about made Julian itch to march into the hospital and slap Daniel awake.
The utter b*stard!
To treat the precious girl we wanted to treasure like dirt!
He better pray he never wakes up from that coma, or I’ll make his life living hell!
Julian’s expression was cold as ice.

Snapping out of his daze, Isaac asked hesitantly from the back, “Uncles… what happened to Grandfather?”
He had been lost in his own thoughts earlier, his mind wandering in a fog.
Only now did he catch snippets of their conversation about their grandfather’s condition.
“None of your d*mn business.”
Garrett snapped back with crude hostility.
Among the three brothers, he cared least about acting like a dignified elder.
In his rebellious youth, he had run with street brawlers and tough crowds.
Grabbing Isaac by the collar, he hauled him up and warned coldly, “Listen to me closely–don’t even think about using Bella or the Carters to bail out Powell Group’s debt, you hear me?
“If you try pulling that stunt, I’ll beat you black and blue every time I see your face!
‘And tell your father and Adrian to get their heads on straight!
‘Otherwise, I’ll make sure they pay dearly for it!
‘They better not push my patience to the limit.
‘Because there’s no telling what I’ll do when I snap.
‘Don’t think just because the Sinclairs lost our fortune that you can walk all over us!
‘Sooner or later, I’m coming to settle the score with your family.”
Isaac fell silent beneath the verbal onslaught.
After a long pause, he muttered with genuine remorse, “I won’t. I swear.
“I’m taking over the company as CEO when I get back, and once Powell Group is under my name, I wont let Adrian or Dad bother Bella ever again.”
They won’t have any say in the matter.

“Besides, I won’t let the Powell family’s mess touch Bella in any way.
Finest
“She isn’t officially tied to our house anyway–without a formal debut gala, it’s easy to sever her legal ties to our family.
“On top of that, Adrian already threw her out himself.
Even if Powell Group crashes and burns, the bankruptcy won’t drag Bella down.
‘I already had Adrian cash out her five–percent equity into an offshore blind trust beforehand.
‘I’ll transfer full ownership to her when the time comes.
‘Whether the Powell empire falls apart or not, none of the fallout will touch her
“She will live comfortably at the Carters, not as a penniless orphan or an abandoned child with no safety net.”
As Isaac poured his heart out in one breath, Garrett raised an eyebrow in surprise.
“Well, look at that. You actually have a shred of conscience left.”
If background checks hadn’t confirmed that Isaac was never outright malicious toward Bella–and had even run away from home with her–Garrett wouldn’t have let him off with just a single slap.
D*mn it, Daniel got off easy by passing out in the ICU, or I’d have beaten him into a hospital bed myself!
Garrett grunted with lingering spite.
Hearing Isaac’s resolve, Julian cast him a measured glance and said, “You better follow through on those words.
‘If you mean what you say, we can pull some strings to help you retain some of Powell Group’s non–core holdings.
‘We might even help you salvage a piece of your core assets during restructuring.”
Julian knitted his brows thoughtfully as he spoke.
Powell Group’s sudden collapse meant crashing shares and evaporated market cap were the least of their worries.
The real issue was that all pledged assets would be seized by creditor banks to cover defaults before entering restructuring auctions.
But with enough liquid capital, Isaac could potentially buy back certain high–yield divisions at auction.
It all depended on how much dead weight he was willing to shed.
What needed to be discarded had to be sold off immediately without sentiment.
