Chapter 311 A Thoughtful Gesture
He paused in thought before adding, “There’s one more, but that’s entirely up to you.”
In his mind, though Isabella had been cast out of the Powell house, they were still her family by blood.
Besides, showing up exclusively with the Carters might give gossiping snobs an excuse to whisper behind her back.
Observing the Powells‘ second son earlier, Noah noticed Isaac was different from Daniel and Adrian―he didn’t treat Isabella with cold neglect and had fiercely defended her.
So he figured that if Isabella was willing, she could hand that spare pass to Isaac.
Naturally, if she wasn’t interested, she could just forget about it.
After all, Steven Wayne’s birthday gala wasn’t an event just anyone could attend.
Without Noah delivering three formal passes today, even the Carters might not have secured invitations.
For while the Carters were an elite business powerhouse, the Wayne family operated far above mere corporate wealth.
With Steven’s stature in military and government circles, scoring an invitation to his celebration was exceptionally difficult for ordinary tycoons.
Furthermore, high–tier galas like this were premier venues for courting political capital and rubbing shoulders with the upper crust.
Put plainly, entering those rooms demanded both immense wealth and true institutional power.
By delivering invitations to Isabella, the Carters were essentially benefiting from her connections.
“Thank you, Noah.”
Isabella smiled warmly.
She understood his thoughtfulness–he wanted to see if she wished to throw Isaac a lifeline, and if so, that pass was his to keep.
If she wasn’t interested, she could do whatever she pleased with it.
Isabella was touched by Noah’s considerate nature; under his rough, reckless exterior, he was surprisingly attentive to detail.
“Does this count as me riding on your coattails?”
Isabella tilted her head with an amused smirk, “Selling these three passes on the secondary market would fetch a fortune.
“Are you really just giving them to me for free?”
She teased him playfully.
Hearing his earlier flustered claim of being a hero, she couldn’t leave him hanging without some banter.
“Don’t you dare sell them!”
Noah panicked in an instant.
He growled through gritted teeth.
He had fought tooth and nail with Ethan to squeeze three passes out of his older brother’s hands.
Guest allocations were strictly capped, and Ethan had refused at first, only caving once he heard they were meant for Isabella.
And now Isabella was threatening to sell them off?!
He jerked upright so fast that he nearly tipped his superbike onto the tarmac.
Isabella blinked in speechless silence, holding back a laugh.
Forget it.
She stared at Noah in amused bewilderment, truly lost for words.
How does someone’s brain function this… straightforwardly?
Patting Noah’s helmet, she laughed, “I’m thanking you, silly. Who said anything about selling them?
“If I sold off a golden opportunity like this, someone would come hunting me down overnight to settle the score.”
“Glad to know better.” Catching her playful sarcasm in that second, Noah suddenly felt like an absolute idiot.
Clearing his throat with an awkward grunt, he turned his head away and mumbled, “Anyway, if you don’t want to give it away, just keep it on your desk. Don’t sell it, or… I’ll dock your tutoring pay!”
Noah delivered the threat with no confidence or conviction.
Because Isabella was swimming in cash now.
She had just won thirty million dollars on the track!
Combined with her thirty–million dividend from Carter Group, she was a multimillionaire in her own right.
Realizing his personal allowance and savings paled in comparison to her bank balance, Noah felt even smaller.
My stupid mouth–what on earth am I babbling about?!
Docking her pay? What if she refuses to tutor me anymore?!
“Hey… Now that you’re loaded, you won’t… you wouldn’t…”
He stammered awkwardly, struggling to finish the sentence.
Seeing his eyes redden in genuine panic, Isabella broke into a radiant smile, “Of course I won’t.
“Oh, by the way–thanks for taking me out to strike it rich today, Young Master Wayne.”
“Let’s split the winnings!”
Pressing a finger to her lips, she whispered, “Keep this quiet around Eugene and his parents—I don’t want them worrying, especially about the superbike race.”

Scratching his head in flustered defeat, he typed, “Fine, but I’m holding it in escrow for you. Ask me whenever you need cash.”
Hesitating briefly, he added, “Save this chat log as proof–remember this money is yours and you can demand it anytime!”
