Faced with my raw anger and unshaken defiance James froze for a moment before twisting his lips into a mocking grin. He clearly didn’t take my threat to end the bond seriously. “Cindy, anyone can talk tough. Do you think breking a destined bond is a joke? Do you even understand the soul–crushing price you’d pay? Don’t come crawling back to me when it hits you.”
Evelyn stood by his side, scoffing with obvious disbelief, convinced I was just bluffing,
“Y–you’ve crossed a line!”
Suddenly, Jewel, who had been quietly standing behind me, stepped forward without hesitation. Wrapping her arms protectively around me, she shouted at James and Evelyn, “What has Ms. Cindy ever done to you? How dare you treat her like this! You’re just bullies abusing your power! By the Moon Goddess above, she will never forgive such traitorous wolves!”
“Outrageous! You’re just an Omega. How dare you talk back to an Alpha!” James’s eyes flashed with fierce anger. He was already irritated by my defiance, and Jewel’s bold defense was like pouring fuel on the fire,
Without warning, he raised his hand and slapped Jewel hard across the cheek!
Smack!
Jewel cried out in pain as she stumbled backward and fell. Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth, and her cheek instantly swelled.
“Jewel!” I yelled, fury boiling insi
“Diana! Take him down!”
Rage drowned out all reason in me. Before James could react, the Alpha blood surging through me fused with Diana’s fierce spirit. In an instant, I struck back with a sharp, thunderous slap that landed right on his face!
Smack!
James jerked his head sideways, the clear mark my fingers burning across his check. Shock and anger flashed in his golden wolf eyes.
He probably never expected the usually calm me to hit back.

“Cindy! You actually hit me?!” he shouted, eyes blazing, his Alpha presence crashing down like a tidal wave. Evelyn shifted into half–wolf form beside him, both snarling with ferocious growls.
I stood firm, pushing Diana’s power to its fullest. The fierce, biting Alpha aura of Northmere Silverpeak Pack sliced through the tension like a sharp blade, meeting their pressure head-
For a tense moment, the cramped room shook with the violent collision of three Alpha energies. Furniture rattled and groaned, threatening to break under the strain.
“How dare you lay a hand on me over some lowly Omega!” James’s eyes turned deadly. His wolf spirit, enraged by the insult, erupted with fury. “Fine! Cindy, if you want to protect her, watch me kill this useless slave right in front of you! Let’s see how well you defend her then!”
He lunged forward to grab Jewel.
“James! Stop!”
He paused, a cruel smile curling on his lips as he stared at me, waiting for me to back down.
Jewel was my servant from the Silverpeak Pack. She was one of the few left, and the closest thing to family I had here.
James knew this.
He was using Jewel as a weapon to force me into submission.
I closed my eyes briefly and opened them again. They were now cold as ice and steady as steel.
“Fine,” I said slowly, measuring each word as I stared him down. “I’ll give part of my inheritance to buy new gear for the pack. But you must promise me you’ll leave Jewel alone and guarantee her safety.”
The savage edge in James’s expression softened slightly, replaced by the arrogant smirk of a
victor.
He exchanged a glance, with Evelyn, who smiled back triumphantly,
“You’re smart,” James said with a cold snort. “Remember your promise. By dinner, I want to see enough money in the pack’s shared account to pay for the equipment. As for this Omega, we’ll let her live this time.”
