Chapter 217 Treating the Leg
Cindy’s POV:
It had been a full month since Astra returned.
In that single month, the ducal estate’s storehouses were nearly bursting at the seams.

The Kazeks seemed determined to make up for two years of lost affection all at once. Every other day, a carriage would stop at the back gate. The gifts came in all forms: premium snow fox pelts shipped from Northmere, said to be for making knee guards for Astra; dozens of outfits rushed through overnight production, in every size from small to large; there was even an entire deer Roger personally hunted, its fresh, bloody tang noticeable before it even crossed the threshold.
Beyond Kazek Manor, the winds at the Royal Court shifted just as quickly.
Ever since news spread that Prince Adam had relinquished military command for my sake, coupled with confirmation that Astra was alive, nobles who had once stood on the sidelines swooped in like vultures catching the scent of meat, using these events as excuses to send gifts.
The one who left me most speechless was Queen Isabella.
This queen, who had previously held some prejudice against me, directly sent over a red-lacquered tray.
When the red cloth was lifted, 10 gleaming gold bars lay neatly arranged inside.
The palace attendant delivering the message mimicked Queen Isabella’s tone exactly. “Buy the child some meat. Wolf pups only grow if they eat their fill.”
As always simple, blunt, and undeniably practical.
Beyond these formal gestures, what comforted me most was that many Alpha leaders from other packs that had once been close with Silverpeak also came to visit.
The way they looked at Astra was no longer the gaze reserved for a pitiful cripple, but one fixed on an ember reigniting. Though Astra could not speak, he sat there with his back straight. When those powerful Alphas released probing pheromones, he did not tremble like an ordinary cub. Instead, he stared directly into their eyes until they were the ones who looked away first./
This child carried not only wounds in his bones, but pride as well.
That afternoon, the sunlight was rare and brilliant.
Rupert arrived carrying his signature black medical case.
“Looking well,” Rupert said, glancing at me as he pulled on his gloves. “Seems love really is the best medicine. Prince Adam’s been taking good care of you.”
My face warmed, and I ignored the remark, asking eagerly instead, “Dr Rupert, how is Astra?”
Rupert walked to the bedside and motioned for Astra to open his mouth, examining his throat before

He listened to Astra’s chest for a long time, his brow relaxing and tightening in turns.
After a moment, he opened his eyes and showed a hint of approval.
“There are two pieces of news,” Rupert said, holding up two fingers. “I’ll start with the good.”
“This kid’s physical foundation is absurdly strong-strong enough to make others envy him. As expected of a pure Alpha bloodline descendant. That cursed poison was vicious, but between my treatment and his own immune system, it’s metabolizing far faster than anticipated.”.
Rupert gestured to Astra’s neck, where the swollen lymph nodes had noticeably subsided. “His liver and kidney functions are restarting. At this rate, maybe not even a cords could regain function.”
Joy surged through me. I reached out and ruffled Astra’s hair.
Astra’s eyes narrowed slightly as he gave a silent smile.
