I woke suddenly, my head pounding as if someone had smashed it apart and scrambled my thoughts inside.
Deep down, my wolf spirit Kenzi lay asleep, weighed down by trauma so intense it couldn’t awaken yet.
The Bond–Breaking Order… Cindy’s unwavering gaze kept haunting me over and over.
That moment, the cruel snap of our bond nearly destroyed me. I blacked out, clueless about how I was carried away from the plaza.
Evelyn was holding me, her breath ragged, rushing toward Moonwhisper Residence.
Prince Adam and a few Beta werewolves followed behind us, the air thick with tension and the sharp, metallic scent of blood.
I tried to open my eyes, my throat dry and sore, wanting to ask what had happened but only managing a weak, rough groan.
When we reached Moonwhisper Residence, the sight stabbed deep into my chest.
Cindy had shifted into her silver wolf form, her silver–white eyes blazing with deadly fury, her claws pinning down the battered Hannah.
The room was destroyed; Jewel lay collapsed in a pool of blood, barely holding on, and scattered around were several unconscious werewolves— Hannah’s men.
Gold and silver vessels and crystal coins spilled across the floor like the ruins of a looted
treasure room.
“Cindy, stop!” I croaked, my voice fragile like a dying ember.
I stared at her, my feelings tangled and impossible to sort.
I felt hatred toward her for shattering our bond and humiliating me before Northmere, shame for betraying her and eyeing her inheritance, but above all, a sense of regret that was sharp and deep in my bones.
Before me stood Cindy, her silver wolf blood fully awakened, radiating the undeniable strength of a true Northmere ruler, the Luna I had once dreamed of.
But it was finished. The chain of our bond had broken clean, with no way back.

She lifted her head, her cold silver eyes sweeping over me with scorn and mockery, like she was looking at a loser.
My heart felt torn apart. Kenzi stirred weakly in his sleep, mourning my foolishness.
Evelyn’s POV:
I carried James on my back, overwhelmed by the mix of pheromones he gave off–pain, regret, and worst of all, the feeling I despised most, lingering feelings for Cindy.
Jealousy blazed through me like wildfire. How could he still waver for her?
I planned for him, fought for him, fueled his ambitions, and worked to win the Royal Court’s favor for the Duskfang Pack. I gave everything I had!
The scene at Moonwhisper Residence only fueled my anger more: Cindy was holding Hannah down like a supreme Alpha, showing off her power!
I set James down and stood tall, demanding everyone’s attention with a voice as cold as ice, asserting the Luna’s authority over the Duskfang Pack. “Cindy, you’ve got some nerve! Attacking a Beta of the Duskfang Pack–Alpha’s own sister, Hannah! Let her go now and apologize to the pack, or face the full fury of the Pack!”
Cindy sneered, her silver wolf form glowing with unstoppable power, “Apologize? Evelyn, you haven’t even had your ceremony yet, and already you’re calling yourself Luna of the Duskfang Pack? Open your eyes. Hannah and her pack raided my property and hurt my servant, Jewel! I’m the Alpha of Silverpeak Pack. Her attack is a declaration of war! Killing her wouldn’t be crossing the line.”
I scoffed, filled with disgust. The SilverpeakPack? Justherandthathalf–dead Omega?
I hated Cindy. She stole my spotlight and James attention! She was nothing but a Silverpeak orphan. Why was she an Alpha and a duchess?
The Duskfang Pack’s Luna could only be me! James’s regret terrified me; if he wavered, my power would crumble.
I must destroy Cindy, prove she’s weak, and secure my position as Luna.
Hannah’s humiliation was shameful, but it was also a chance, If I killed Cindy now, the threat would be gone for good!
If I killed her, no one in the Duskfang Pack would dare challenge me! I shouted at my guards, “Attack! Kill her!”
The guards shifted into wolves and charged. I waited for Cindy’s blood to stain Moonwhisper Residence.
