All of them were Margaret’s private guards. Every single one gave off a cold, bloodthirsty vibe. They held long, razor-sharp halberds. In seconds, they surrounded the royal guards who had come with us. The air in the grand hall turned icy. No one moved. It felt like a spark could start a war.

“Margaret! What are you doing?!” Isabella screamed in fear. She trembled and hid behind me, clutching my cloak like it was the only thing keeping her upright.

“What am I doing?” Margaret snapped. “I’m cleaning out the filth that dares to plot against the royal family!”

Her talent for twisting the truth was impressive. She pointed at the six large wooden chests on the floor and shouted, “Cindy, you’re jealous of my daughter! You worked with corrupt servants to fake account books and altered them to frame Lily! You have no respect for your elders. This is outrageous!”

Then she turned to her guards. “Take those fake records to the furnace room and burn them. Anyone who dares to stop you is my enemy. Kill them if you must!”

“Yes, Your Highness!”

Two of the strongest Gamma guards threw down their halberds. They grinned as they walked toward the chests and reached down to lift them.

“Trying to destroy the evidence? Can you get past me?”

I snorted coldly. I didn’t even bother drawing the dagger at my waist.

The moment one of the guards touched the chest, I moved.

I was so fast I left a blur behind me.

No fancy moves. No tricks. Just the raw strength of a top Alpha.

I drove a punch forward. It cut through the air with a sharp whistle and landed squarely on the guard’s jaw.

Crack!

The sound of bone breaking echoed in the hall.

The man, who weighed over 200 pounds, didn’t get to stream. His feet left the ground. He flew backward like a sack of grain and slammed into the wall. He dropped to the floor and passed out instantly.

The other guard froze in shock. Then he roared and swing his halberd at me.

Instead of stepping back, I moved forward. I knocked the weapon aside and lowered my center of gravity. My right leg snapped out like a steel whip.

Bang!

My kick hit the side of his knee.

He let out a bloodcurdling scream. His knee bent at a twisted angle. He collapsed to the floor, clutching his leg, unable to fight,

In an instant, I brought down two elite guards.

“Roar!”

Diana let out an excited roar inside my mindscape.

I took the chance to release the pheromones I had been holding back for so long-those of a top Alpha- without restraint.

They burst out of me like a freezing storm from the far north, sharp and deadly, heavy with the scent of blood and battle. Instantly, a violent gust of pressure swept through the room.

The guards who had been eager to move froze. When they felt that absolute suppression rising from deep in their bloodline, their faces drained of color. Their legs went weak. Some of them actually stumbled backward without meaning to. A few could barely keep Hold of their halberds.
