Antonio’s POV
Back at the villa, Judith set out photos of Lucille as a little girl all over the living room.
Tears rolled down her face as she looked at them. It was only now that she realized how few pictures they had of Lucille after she came of age.
Once Christa came into the picture, most of the frames around here held her smiling face instead.
Lucille’s images all stopped somewhere in her school years.
Judith and Phil finally saw it. But it was way too late.
That day, I found Judith sitting at the table, staring at old photos of Lucille from her school days. In those pictures, Lucille’s smile was bright and pure.
Not far from Judith, Phil slumped on the sofa, completely defeated.
The entire villa was eerily quiet, like even the sound of breathing had been swallowed up.
Then Christa’s desperate cries cut through the silence outside the door.
“Phil, Judith, please! I know I was wrong. Just open the door. I can explain. Please… Judith, Lucille is gone, but that’s fine. I can be your daughter. Just say the word, and I’ll do whatever you want… How about this? I’ll get plastic surgery. I’ll make myself look exactly like Lucille. Please!”
Phil couldn’t take it anymore. He smashed a glass on the floor and

“Really? You really think you can replace my daughter? Get lost. You killed her! How dare you show up here? Out!”
Christa collapsed on the ground, sobbing until she could barely breathe. Suddenly, she clutched her chest and started convulsing, screaming, her face ghastly pale.
For a moment, I thought maybe a quick death would be a mercy for her.
So she didn’t die.
When she opened her eyes, she was in a hospital bed.
I sat beside her and watched her.
She looked at me, confused, her voice shaking.
“Tony… Did you save me? I-”
I cut her off, “Christa, you tricked me into giving you that heart.”
My tone was light, but it sent a chill straight through her.
She stared at me, trembling harder.
“W–What do you want? Do you want to kill me?”
“Kill you?” I coldly sneered,
“You don’t get to die just like that.
“It’d be too easy for you.”
I leaned in closer, locked my eyes on hers, and said each word slowly, “You’re going to take good care of that heart inside you.
“After all, it belongs to Lucille. And you? You’re just a container now.

She went completely still.
“Antonio, what is that supposed to mean?”
I stood up and gave her one last look.

“Christa, listen carefully. Keep that heart perfect. If anything–and I mean anything—happens to it, you’ll pay the heaviest price.”
Then I turned and walked out.
Her scream followed me, raw and desperate.
“Antonio! Come back!”
Doctors rushed in and held her down.
No matter how much she screamed, I didn’t look back.

Two years later, I stood in front of Lucille’s grave. I placed a bouquet of flowers down, closed my eyes, and stayed silent for a long time.
My bodyguard quietly stepped up beside me and leaned in.
“Christa is dead,” he whispered. “Complications from heart rejection.”
I opened my eyes.
For the past two years, her condition had gone up and down. The rejection never really went away. Eventually, they moved her to a psychiatric hospital. She begged for help constantly, but no one did. anything. As time went on, she cracked completely.
The strain on her heart built up until i couldn’t take it anymore. It just gave out.
They said when she died, her eyes were wide open. Remorse was written

I looked at Lucille’s photo on the tombstone.

“Lucy…” I muttered. “The one who lied to you got what she deserved. You can rest in peace now.
“Lucy, can you… come to my dream tonight?
“Lucy, I miss you… I miss you so much.
“I was so wrong. Can you forgive me?
