Chapter 90 Killing God

Cindy’s POV:

Evelyn’s reckless charge caused heavy losses, but it did chew through part of the enemy’s firepower

By then, the Gamma guards’ shield wall had already pushed to the base of the city wall.

“Now!”

I looked up.

A streak of gold cut across the sky.

It was Prince Adam!

He transformed into a massive golden wolf, like a god falling from the heavens. With a few powerful leaps, he cleared the moat and landed right on the battlements.

“Stop him!” the vampire commander yelled in panic.

Countless silver-coated bolts shot toward Prince Adam, but he dodged them with terrifying speed.

Boom!

He crashed down onto a ballista and ripped it apart with a single sweep of his forelimbs.

His tail followed through, sending dozens of vampires flying from the wall.

“Cindy!” Prince Adam called down.

“On my way!”

I unclipped the cloak from my shoulders, tossed aside my longsword, and pulled on the blood-soaked Soulrip Gauntlets.

“Diana, are you ready?”

“Always, my queen.”

I stomped the ground hard and launched forward like an arrow loosed from a bow.

Using a ladder as a launch point, I shot upward and dug my claws into the stone wall.

I pushed and jumped again.

A few bounds later, I was on the battlements.

“It’s that female werewolf! Kill her!”

A squad of vampire royal guards in shining armor rushed in.

Each carried silver spears made to kill werewolves.

“You’re asking for death!”

My pupils narrowed into silver slits, and the world slowed.

I dropped low, slipped past the stabbing spears, and spun into their ranks.

Five silver energy blades burst from my gauntlets, each nearly three feet long.

“Stormrend Waltz!”

Slash-slash-slash-

The sounds of metal tearing and bones breaking blended.

More than a dozen royal guards were cut down before they even saw me move.

Prince Adam and I cleared the wall together, carving out a safe zone,

Below us, werewolf soldiers rushed up the ladders, swiftly clearing the remaining enemies on the battlements.

Still, it wasn’t fast enough.

“Jump!” Prince Adam had shifted back into human form and pointed inside the gate.

It was a crazy plan.

We were going to open the gate from the inside.

That meant jumping straight into enemy territory and holding off thousands until it opened.

“Let’s go!”

I didn’t hesitate and jumped.

The wind howled.

We smashed into the plaza behind the gate, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Nearby hyena soldiers and vampire troops froze for a split second, then surged forward like a flood.

“Hold the line!”

Prince Adam planted himself against the massive gate bar, sword gripped tight. A golden battle aura erupted around him, every swing cutting down waves of enemies.

I covered his side, claws flashing, tearing apart anything that got close.

Blood filled my vision. Bodies piled up at our feet.
