The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 251

Victoria was stunned, unable to answer for a moment.

It was the same question that Cerys Thorne, and even Victoria herself, had asked countless times.

Back then, her answer had always been unwavering. "I love him more than I love myself."

But now, looking into Sunny's eyes, all she could see were flashes of everything she had endured recently.

Suddenly, she felt that love and the lack of it no longer mattered.

"...I've let it go." After a long pause, Victoria spoke softly but with conviction. "Elias Shawn and I were a mistake from the beginning. Divorce was just my way of finally putting things right."

Sunny was silent for a moment, then smiled. "It's okay. You have a great personality, you're beautiful, and you've got the background and skills to match. If this one didn't work out, the next one will be better! There are plenty of fish in the sea. I'll start looking for someone for you."

Cerys used to say similar things to her.

"You're a lot like her," Victoria said.

Sunny blinked. "Who?"

"Cerys, my childhood friend."

"Is she that wealthy friend of yours who used to pick you up from the Design Institute in a Porsche?" Sunny thought for a moment and suddenly remembered. "I thought she was interesting back then, always wearing sunglasses indoors."

Victoria couldn't help but laugh, thinking that if Cerys heard that, she would jump up and insist it was because she wasn't wearing makeup and had to maintain her beautiful image.

"She's abroad with her family right now. I'll introduce you two when she gets back."

"Sounds good."

Just as she finished speaking, Sunny's phone buzzed.

She glanced at the caller ID and was about to get up to take the call on the balcony. But after two steps, she seemed to remember something, turned back, and showed the screen to Victoria, afraid she might misunderstand.

"Victoria, look, it's a call from the Design Institute, not that jerk Shawn. Don't get the wrong idea."

Victoria paused, then smiled. "Go on, take the call."

Seeing that Victoria wasn't suspicious, Sunny relaxed and walked out of the living room to answer.

"Meow~"

Having finished its food, Dawn lazily walked over to her feet and stretched.

"I know what you're thinking, but don't worry, the Design Institute has security," Sunny reassured her. "And if the family really is the type to not let it go and wants to take a swing at me to vent, well, I've got two legs, don't I? If I can't fight them, I can definitely outrun them."

Victoria opened her mouth to argue, but Sunny didn't give her the chance. She slipped on her shoes, grabbed her coat, and tossed over her shoulder, "I'm leaving, I'll be back soon!" before opening the door and heading out.

Victoria stood at the entrance, watching Sunny's figure disappear before turning her gaze away and heading back to her room with Dawn.

Actually, Sunny had a point.

After yesterday's ordeal, she was exhausted.

Lying down on the bed, Victoria held Dawn in her arms and fell asleep before she knew it.

She slept until it was dark.

The entire apartment was plunged into blackness. Victoria fumbled in the dark to turn on the light and sat up.

A click sounded from outside the bedroom.

It was the sound of the fingerprint lock being opened.
