“Then what’s the bad news?” I asked.

Helio stayed silent for a while, then let out a heavy sigh. “The pack already knows the truth now. They know we’ve been playing them for fools for the past three years. Because of that, you won’t. be able to go to work today. I need to sort everything out first.”

My eyes widened in shock. They know? Already?

“Woah… they know about it now?” My voice came out louder than I had intended.

“Yes,” he confirmed with a nod. “I let them know. And because the truth is out, a pack conference

has been called.”

He paused, his expression turning more serious. “But you don’t have to be there.”

The words made something tighten in my stomach. He’s trying to protect me again. I shook my

head firmly. “I’m not a baby, Helio. As your wife, I will be there to support you.”

He nodded slowly, but I could see the tension in his shoulders and the slight tightness in his jaw.

He’s anxious, I realized. Of course he is. He has to stand before the entire pack that believed he

was his brother for three whole years. He has to reveal that he’s been impersonating Julio this

whole time. Even the strongest man would feel nervous facing that kind of judgment.

The thought made my heart ache for him. Helio had already suffered so much, losing his family,

carrying the weight of revenge, awakening his power, and now stepping fully into leadership while hiding such a massive secret. Yet through it all, he had shielded me from the worst of it.

I won’t let him face this alone.

I reached out and gently took his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

Whatever happened at that pack conference today, we would face it together.

I smiled softly at him. “When will the conference be held?”

Helio kept his eyes locked on mine and whispered, “That’s why I came to you now. It will be held this morning.”

I nodded, absorbing the information. So soon… “I should freshen up then,” I said, already moving.

He nodded in agreement.

As I stood up and began walking toward the bathroom, I suddenly stopped and turned back to him. “And stop fidgeting, oh jeez,” I teased gently.

All he did was laugh — that rich, deep laugh of his that always sent warmth spreading through my

chest. Even when he’s nervous, he still finds a way to make my heart flutter.

The conference hall was thick with tension. You could feel the anger rolling off the pack members in waves. They were furious at having been deceived for so many years by the people they had

trusted, their elders and their Alpha. Their resentment was understandable. They had followed

orders, and believed everything they were told, only to discover it had all been a carefully

constructed lie.

But the most shocking moment that left me completely stunned came from Violet.

She stood up boldly in front of the entire pack and spoke in Helio’s defense. She told them how

Helio had uncovered who was truly responsible for killing their Alpha and how he was determined to bring justice to the pack. Her strong, unwavering support for him noticeably cooled down the heavy tension that had been directed at Helio.

With her words, the pack’s anger slowly shifted. It became focused more on the elders who had

been part of the deception.

One pack member voiced out loudly, “But it is truly a disgrace that our former Alpha, your father,

had to hide his own son all in the name of a dead tradition.”

Many others nodded and murmured in agreement.

I sat there quietly, listening. It wasn’t uncommon in their world for a twin to be killed or locked away from the world simply because the pack feared both would grow up to rebel and fight for the

Alpha position. How absurd and cruel, I thought. To punish a child just for being born a twin…

Then another voice rose above the murmurs. “If what you have said is the truth, that when the

young Julian becomes of age, the title will be passed down to him, then we are ready to accept

you as the standing Alpha.”

The rest of the pack nodded in unison, showing their conditional acceptance.

Camera lights flashed on Helio as he stood tall and nodded firmly. “You have my word on that.”

I found out that the pack had their own private platforms and news outlets, channels that only members of the pack could access. This wasn’t just a meeting; it was being broadcast to the entire pack.

Soon the meeting ended and we were escorted to the car. As soon as we both got in, Helio pulled me into a hug and breathed in deeply, like he was trying to steady himself with my scent.

I hugged him back tightly, holding him close. He really needed this, I thought. “You did good,” I
