**Chapter 141**

**NATALIE.**

As I sit across from him, the weight of unspoken truths hangs heavy in the air. I can’t bring myself to tell him that his perception of success is skewed, that his company is not thriving as he believes. The thought of the questions that would inevitably arise sends a chill down my spine, and I choose to keep my thoughts tightly sealed within.

“That’s truly wonderful,” I say, forcing a smile, “to have someone you can rely on like that.” He nods, a flicker of appreciation crossing his features.

“Yes, indeed. He’s been a blessing in my life,” he replies, his voice filled with warmth. Then, with a hint of curiosity, he adds, “I must ask, dear, what exactly did you put in that drip? I’m feeling remarkably better already.” A smile creeps onto my lips at his compliment.

“I’m glad to hear that! It’s my own special concoction, a recipe passed down from my mother,” I respond, pride swelling in my chest.

“Please extend my gratitude to her,” he says earnestly, and I can’t help but smile again. I hold back the truth—that my mother is no longer living, and that she is also his wife, the very woman he abandoned. It’s her wisdom that might just be the lifeline he desperately needs now.

“You remind me so much of someone precious to me,” he muses, a nostalgic glimmer in his eyes.

“Really? Who do I remind you of?” I inquire, my heart racing slightly as I brace for his answer.

“My daughter,” he replies, and a sudden wave of dread washes over me. I fear that the masks I wear—the physical disguise and the scent that cloaks my identity—might not be enough to shield me from his insight.

“I’ve seen your daughter, Alpha Thomas. I assure you, I don’t resemble her at all,” I retort, trying to maintain my composure while my mind races.

“My daughter, the actress,” he clarifies, a hint of pride in his tone. “But I’m not speaking of Yara; I mean her twin sister, Natalie.” My breath catches in my throat, shock coursing through me, yet I expertly mask my surprise with an impassive expression.

“Wow, I had no idea you had another daughter or that Yara was a twin,” I say, attempting to keep the conversation light, but I can see the shadows of sadness creeping onto his face.
