“I can imagine… I’m sorry you had to go through all the stress.”

Grace shrugged.

“Oh not at all! It wasn’t particularly stressful. I got to relax for a few days.”

“I’m so glad you’re back.”

Grace said as she patted Lori and Lori nodded.

Draco was standing at the door with a smile on his face.

“Welcome back Lori.”

He said and Lori nodded.

“Thank you Draco.”

Their relationship was cordial. No more than formal greetings… but his smile was warm enough and it told Lori enough. Like they would be more casual

with one another. Friends maybe.

“Gabriel told me of all your efforts to find me… thank you so much!”

Draco nodded.

“You’re his mate. I would lay down my life to protect you if it comes to that.”

Draco assured and Lori laughed nervously.

“Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that…”

Gabriel was standing at the side and smiling.

“Aren’t they coming in? Didn’t you bring her stuff?!”

Lori asked as she noticed there was no luggage with either Draco or Grace.

“They’re not staying here. They’re going back to the safe house with you.”

Gabriel said and Lori raised her eyebrow.

“What? Why?”

Gabriel shrugged.

“For your protection.”

“And what about you?”

She asked and Gabriel shrugged again, he looked around.

“I’ll stay here. There’s much to do and Sabine and Lyle are still out in public. I have to find them.. clean up this mess.. work and all..”

“I’m not going there without you.”

Lori stated and Gabriel sighed.

“Lori please… you’ve been through enough already. In the safe house you’ll be safe… I’ll visit as often as I can but I’ll be more at ease when I know you’re

safe.”

Lori looked at Grace and Draco who were looking at them awkwardly.

She smiled at the uneasily.

“We’ll be right back.”

She said as she grabbed Gabriel’s arm and dragged him to their room.

“You’re not locking me up in some safe house.”

Lori said as she locked the door behind them.

“Lori please. Don’t you want to be with Emilia? Or stay protected?”

Lori shook her head as she folded her arms.

“No! I want to help. I want to do something! I want to help out in a way!”

“I can’t just stay in a safe house and wait for you to come with news and do all the work while Sabine is out with my son doing god knows what!”

“Gabriel… let me stay here. With you. I’m tired of being so fucking helpless.”

Gabriel was skeptical.

He shook his head wearily,

“You were just kidnapped…”

Lori nodded.

“I know that. But that’s no reason for me to stay locked up…”

“You’re not being locked up! It’s just a safe house!”

“I don’t want to go!”

Lori snapped.

Gabriel finally relented.

“I’m going to miss Emilia… but you have to understand… I need to find that bitch… no, we need to find that bitch…”

She warned and Gabriel smirked.

Lori tilted her head, she was getting cocky.
