Chapter 179
“You wouldn’t.”
He looked at his watch.
‘I’d be back before noon, hopefully if the meeting doesn’t last the whole day. Then we can come back and relax, maybe visit Emilia if Draco deems it safe
enough.”
Lori grinned.
“Well! That sounds great! I can’t wait.”
She said as she kissed him on the lips.
They break apart after a while and Gabriel leaves.
All alone.
Again.
Lori thought as she walked back into her room.
In the closet, she rummage through her clothes, mindlessly humming till she heard a clink across the marble floor.
Lori looked down and saw the bracelet on the floor. Broken into two clean pieces.
What the fuck?!
She thought as she looked around.
Her hand must have snagged something. But what?!
And why did the bracelet break so easily?! Wasn’t it supposed to be metal?
She wondered she she picked it up. Repairing it wouldn’t work.
It was a simple piece of iron. It would need to be melded back together.
Would it still have it’s potency?
She wondered.
Astra mentioned that it was created using dark magic. A dark object, she said, did being broken nullify it’s power?!
She wondered as she dropped the two piece on a nearby counter.
If she started to shift again… then she was in huge trouble.

Chapter 179
“There was a break in.”
Vara said as she brought over an iPad to show Sabine the camera footage.
“Where?!”
Sabine asked in shock and Vara gave her the iPad.
“Your apartment in Larimer.”
Sabine dropped the clothes she was packing and looked at the video.
She frowned.
“What’s he looking for?!”
She asked and Vara shrugged.
“Money. He’s broke. He couldn’t find anything worthwhile here to steal… so now he’s stealing your fine china to sell…”
Sabine scoffed.
“He’s quite the fool. He should have left the city by now.”
Vara chuckled.
“With what?! He was a freeloader. He has no job, no connection or money, he’s desperate.”
“A desperate man is of no good use to us.”

Sabine said as she passed the iPad back to Vara.
Oh how she loathed the day when she met Lyle, the day when she let him into her bed and made him think he was equal to her.
Now, the thought of him repulsed her. Her own stupidity repulsed her. He had been the one to benefit from their agreement the most, while in return she
had nothing to show from their partnership.
Nothing worthwhile, not even a win against Gabriel.
“One last mission before you leave,”
Vara straightened.
“What is it?!”
“Find him and kill him.”
Vara stilled.
Kill Lyle?

Chapter 179
By herself?
ETER
It wasn’t impossible but she didn’t exactly want to do it herself. Most of her men had left, Sabine had warned all of them to lay low while she planned her escape out of the country, Vara had been happy she had at least decided to let them leave it all behind but now she had another mission for her?!
It was pathetic.
“But… alpha..”
“Vara! That man, that roguish bastard knows more about us, our pack, than he should. You understand he must not live to give the information he knows to
other parties don’t you?!”
Vara sighed.
“I understand.”
Sabine nodded her head.
She threw her remaining clothes inside the suitcase without folding them.
Without the staff it had been exhausting packing on her own. The only staff she had kept was one other werewolf bodyguard and the nanny who was in care
of Jack.
“Call me when you’re done with the job.”
She added and Vara nodded again, her shoulders slumped in resignation.
Sabine ignored the faraway look in her beta’s eyes.
It was her duty to protect her and she knew that Vara would do that till the very end.
