Chapter 216
There were only two people Gabriel really and truly cared about. Lori and Emilia. And he had tried to keep them as safe as he could. Away from his world, away from the nastiness and conflicts. But now, all that was about to change with Lori.
Since she was going to be his Luna, it was only logical she attended the Alpha’s summit and while he didn’t dispute the fact that she ought to attend, he
had the unnerving feeling that Sabine was planning something.
Talking to the Alphas must have been stage one, but what the hell was stage two of her plan?
No one would be gullible enough to believe Sabine without evidence, so he knew that was the next phase of her plan.
Gathering evidence, getting them to believe her. Any way possible she could get it.
He hoped she would attend, she was bold enough to actually attend. She would believe that he wouldn’t be able to touch or hurt her in front of so many
other alphas but that was where she would be wrong. If she managed to come to the Alpha’s summit then Sabine could consider herself as good as dead.
That was the only thing he was truly sure of.
The Alpha’s summit was in a matter of days, and with each passing day he could feel Lori’s growing anxiety. He tried to relieve her of her worries, he would
hold her tightly at night and wished that his warmth evaporated all her fears.
She had also been very particular about training these days. She wanted to show off her wings and while Gabriel didn’t mind, he knew how much pressure it was exerting on her. He had come to see her at training and saw that she was pushing herself, more than he had ever seen.
He was impressed but very worried. She was trying so hard to reel her emotions in, to not make a mistake. He wished she didn’t have to try in the first
place.
For Lori shift into her full self, with all those people, all those eyes on her waiting for one slip up. It would be no ordinary feat but she had insisted that she
would do it.
There was a slight knock on his glass door, interrupting his thoughts. Gabriel turned to look and say Draco standing at the other side of the glass. He beckoned him to come in, although he couldn’t fathom why he was knocking in the first place.
‘Draco.”
‘Alpha,”
He said as he walked in. There was a small file in his left hand. Gabriel wondered what it was. Official invite for the alpha summit had come in and Gabriel had been getting a few calls from the alphas he was close with. Everyone was confirming attendance, as well as trying to find the latest gossip on each
other.
It was nothing out of the ordinary, it happened every year, Gabriel was just a little more invested in it this year more than he had ever been because of what
the Summit held.
‘I’m just trying to get some work done…”
He muttered as he pointed to the stack of paperwork on his table. Draco raised his eyebrow. He adjusted the collar of his shirt as he looked at all the paperwork he had to deal with again, he was looking forward to the days he wouldn’t have to do them again.
“What happened to getting a new CEO?”

Gabriel shrugged.
“That’s coming along… I just need to finish up with a few things.”
“What brings you here?”
He glanced at Draco who sat down across from him and tossed the file on his table. Gabriel picked it up.
It contained the usual, pack reports, concerns, their needs, he would go through that later. He tossed it aside and turned to his beta.

‘A lot of things. I would have waited until later but it cannot wait.”
Gabriel sighed.
