Was he here to kill him?

He couldn’t read his face well enough to tell.

“Well, I’m sure you already know why I’m here… I don’t intend to stay long..”

He said and Jared nodded.

“Of course. You’re here about Lori right?”

“Yes. What else did you think I was here for?”

‘Idle chit chat?!”

Asher exclaimed as he busted into laughter. Jared’s fists hardened.

“What if I decide to not tell you anything about her? What you gonna do then?”

‘Oh you’re not going to do that. I know you won’t.”

Asher took a turn around the room, it was truly filthy, he wondered just how long Jared had been living in the dump for it to look so messy.

“Besides, I hear you’ve been struggling lately, you’ve been owing your suppliers money, living in the dump… I might be able to help with that.”

Asher said as he took a puff of his cigarette. Jared glared at him.

“You were the one who cut me off.”

“Yes! I did. Because you were acting fucking weird man. You were freaking me out!”

“What was I supposed to do?!”

He asked and Jared sighed.

He collapsed on the bed, his shoulder was slumped and his expression was blank He would just have to be straightforward with Asher.

“Well, if you’re looking for Lori, I can’t find her either. She hasn’t been in her apartment in weeks.”

Asher nodded.

“Okay. The baby, what about the baby?”

Jared chuckled.

“You’re still on that? I thought you didn’t want it.”

“I never said that!”

Asher fired back.

Jared continued laughing.

“Well, if you must know, she lost the baby.”

Asher thought as he froze on the spot. As stupid as it sounded, a part of him had been excited, happy even that he was having a child. He had already

dreamed of life with his son and Lori.

“You sad? Awwn. It’s a good thing she did though. That baby would have been sa messed up.”

“Shut up!”

Asher demanded as he walked closer to Jared and Jared just laughed.

No, actually he wasn’t going to shut up. Asher felt like he could just waltz in people’s lives, use them and dump them when he decided they had no use for

him anymore but somehow he still managed to go back to them and attempt to do the same shit all over again.

He was growing tired of it.

“You raped her Asher. Countless times. That baby was not a product of love or anything good. Hell I’m sure even Lori herself didn’t want it!”

“If you look at it from another point of view, I think God did her a favor.”

He said. Before he could move out of the way, Asher charged at him and punched him in the face. Jared fell face palm on the sheets.

Ouch, that hurt. He groaned and he raised his head slowly from the sheets and touched his mouth and found out that he was bleeding.

Fuck. He was just recovering from the last beating he got at the hands of some junkie who was owing him money and now Asher felt like he could treat him
