The Alpha's Regret Return Of The Betrayed Luna (Addison) novel Chapter 542

Chapter 542: Chapter 542 Siege 9

Watching the series of events unfold, Addison couldn’t help but feel a little amazed.

A single warbear had managed to turn the tide of the battle.

Now she finally understood why it had taken so many werewolves just to apprehend and capture one. This was the first time she had ever witnessed a warbear fighting up close, and the sheer power it displayed was astonishing.

With every swing of its massive paws, monsters and wild animals were crushed or thrown aside. The battlefield that had once been overwhelming for the werewolves was now slowly stabilizing under the warbear’s relentless assault.

Because of its continuous attacks, the werewolves finally found an opportunity to regroup.

The scattered warriors gradually pulled back toward one another, reforming their lines and protecting their wounded companions. Although many of them remained wary of the warbear, they could clearly see that it had come from their side and was focusing solely on attacking the monsters and wild animals.

That alone was enough to give them some confidence.

Still, they didn’t completely trust it.

Instead, they carefully stepped aside and allowed the warbear to take the front while they used the brief respite to recover. Some of the wolves focused on healing their injuries, while others prepared themselves to rejoin the battle.

Meanwhile, the warbear stood at the front like an immovable wall, relentlessly swatting away the incoming monsters and wild animals without taking a single step back.

Because of the warbear’s arrival, the tide of the battle quickly began to turn.

The werewolves’ morale, which had been wavering just moments ago, gradually returned as they saw the massive beast holding the enemy at bay. With each monster the warbear crushed or sent flying, their confidence slowly rebuilt.

However, Addison knew this situation wouldn’t last forever.

The warbear might be incredibly strong, but even a creature like that had its limits. Fighting alone against so many monsters and wild animals would quickly drain its strength. Sooner or later, it would need to withdraw and recover before it could continue fighting.

For now, though, the crisis on this side of the wall had been temporarily resolved.

The warbear had effectively become the pillar supporting this section of the battlefield.

And because of that, Addison finally had the freedom to leave this area for a short while and check on the other sides of the wall.

And so she acted.

Addison left the warriors stationed on top of the wall to continue watching over the battlefield while she was away.

"I need to check the other side of the wall," she said firmly. "Keep watch over the situation here. If anything drastic happens, send someone to find me immediately and report it."

With that, Addison turned around, ready to leave.

The warrior she had just assigned to oversee this section was momentarily stunned. He hadn’t expected to suddenly be given such a heavy responsibility. For a brief second, he opened his mouth, wanting to ask a question or clarify his orders.

But before he could say anything—

Addison had already moved.

Her figure disappeared down the wall’s path as swiftly as the wind, leaving the warrior with no choice but to shoulder the task she had entrusted to him.

Addison ran as fast as she could toward the southern section of the wall, the area closest to the eastern side. That part of the territory was darker and far more overgrown, thick with trees and dense greenery.

Because of that terrain, she feared that more monsters and wild animals might be approaching from that direction.

Of course, the question remained: why had she sent the warbear to the eastern side instead of somewhere else?

The answer was simple.

At that moment, the situation there had been the most dangerous because of the monstrous bear rampaging through their lines. Reinforcing that area had been the most urgent choice.

But now that the situation had stabilized somewhat, Addison could reconsider her options.

If the southern side, or any other part of the wall, turned out to be in an even worse situation than the eastern side, she could always recall the warbear and send him wherever support was needed most.

Of course, doing that would also exhaust him far more quickly than anyone else on the battlefield.

Still, there was another reason she didn’t want him staying in one place for too long.

If the warbear remained stationed on a single section of the wall, the warriors and even the Alpha responsible for that area might slowly grow complacent. They might begin relying too heavily on his strength, placing all their hopes on his presence to turn the battle in their favor.

That would be a dangerous mindset.

Instead of learning to depend on others, the warriors needed to sharpen their own abilities, improving their combat instincts, their split-second decision-making, and their awareness on the battlefield.

Only by facing danger themselves could they truly grow stronger.

However, when Addison reached the southern section of the wall, the situation there was no better than the one on the eastern side.
