The Alpha's Regret Return Of The Betrayed Luna (Addison) novel Chapter 543

Chapter 543: Chapter 543 Siege 10

Seeing them brought back a bitter memory.

Addison clearly remembered how much effort it had taken for her group to kill the ogres they had encountered before. Even with everyone working together, and with Zion, a battle-hardened hero, leading the charge, they had still suffered heavy casualties.

But now there were two ogres.

And the warriors here didn’t have someone like Zion leading them.

At that moment, Addison finally understood everything.

Why the Alpha had changed the battle plan.

Why he was so badly injured that he had to retreat to recover.

Why the shifts were happening so quickly.

The casualties on the front line were simply happening too fast.

"Princess..." the Alpha called out hoarsely.

His voice was rough, strained from both exhaustion and the constant shouting of commands. Even so, he still tried to show the proper courtesy due to her. It was the most he could manage in his current condition.

"As you can see... we’re doing our best," he continued, his breathing heavy. "But the situation here is just—"

His words faltered.

The battlefield beyond the wall already spoke for itself.

Two ogres were rampaging across the front line, and despite the warriors’ efforts, they were barely able to hold their ground. The fact that they were struggling this much made the Alpha feel a heavy pressure on his shoulders.

Unlike Zion, he wasn’t a seasoned, battle-hardened leader.

This was his first true battlefield experience.

And looking at the chaos in front of them, he couldn’t help but question himself.

Was he making the right decisions?

Was he doing enough to protect his people?

For a moment, he didn’t even know what else to say.

"There’s no need to explain," Addison said calmly. "You’re doing just fine. The fact that none of your people have died yet speaks volumes about your leadership."

She paused briefly, her gaze shifting toward the rampaging ogres towering even higher than the wall they stood upon.

"And I won’t hold you accountable for changing the team roster on your own. As the leader here, it was within your authority to adapt to the situation. Those who refuse to bend to circumstances only end up breaking."

Addison gave a small nod. "So yes... you have my commendation."

"But as you can see, Princess... this is our limit." The Alpha spoke through clenched teeth, his voice thick with restrained frustration. "Beyond this, I doubt we can stop those ogres from stepping over our corpses and marching straight to the camp once they tear this wall apart."

His claws tightened unconsciously at his sides.

Only now did he truly realize how powerless he was.

An Alpha... yet he couldn’t even bring down a single ogre with his own strength.

Standing beside the kingdom’s princess, he felt small, humiliated even, as if he had no right to remain at her side on this wall.

"You are doing fine," Addison said calmly.

Her voice cut through his spiraling thoughts with quiet certainty.

"Instead of drowning in self-doubt and blaming yourself, help me choose one warrior and send him to check the northwest wall." Her gaze remained fixed on the battlefield ahead. "That way, we’ll know which side needs reinforcements more."

She knew she had to act now.

With the warbear currently holding the eastern wall, they couldn’t afford to waste even a moment.

The Alpha frowned slightly. He didn’t know the situation on the other walls, and he couldn’t quite grasp what Addison was planning. Still, it was her order.

He turned to one of his warriors and sent a quick mindlink, instructing him to scout the other walls. Once the order was sent, he looked back at Addison—

But she was gone.
