Before I could decipher or process what had just happened or what she even meant, the door were swung open and heavily armored guards trooped in.
Before Otto could react, they had silver chains throw on his body.
He howled and screamed as he fell down the floor.
I could see the silver sizzling and it burned into his skin.
"Otto!" I screamed as I jumped up to my feet.
The woman caught my hand and held me back before I could go to him.
"Let me go!" I snapped as I attempted to jerk free.
But her hand was griping my wrists so fimly I was held back down.
She slowly stood up to her feet and she said. "You better stay princess. You don’t want anything to happen to you or your child do you?"
I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand in alarm at the threat casually thrown.
I jerked free but she caught my hand quickly and whirled me around to face her.
She gave me a dirty slap and my face turned the other cheek.
I gasped as I felt the burning impact of her hand print on my cheek.
Her face held no emotion.
No happiness, no wicked delight, no surprise or remorse.
Nothing.
Just a plain and cold face.
And that scared me.
I heard some boots approach.
I turned and saw the guards all step aside and create a path for someone to walk through.
The boots marching up on the cold floorboards approached and finally a man dressed in the same dark amour stood in front of me.
He had a mustache and dark hair fashioned in a short ponytail.
His own uniform seemed different from all the others and from the way they revered him, I couldn’t tell he was the leader.
He smiled at me.
"Jasmine." He said the moment he was inches away from me.
It baffled me that my jaw was casually being shared around
The fear gripped me instantly.
We had been caught.
The Queen’s people had finally caught up to us and now there was no running.
I had put Otto’s life in jeopardy .
I looked down at him, the guards had picked him up from the floor and forced him to stand.
The silver chains were wrapped around his entire body.
I knew that as a rapid reaction wolf, the effect silver would have on him would be worse than a usual wolf’s.
It would hurt him more than it would a regular wolf.
And that meant he could die faster as his wounds wouldn’t heal as fast.
The man smiled at me, he looked like he was in his early forties, the same age as Otto.
He did the strangest thing.
The last thing I expected him to.
He went down on one knee and only before me, his head bowed down to the ground.
"It is an honor to finally see you your majesty." He said.
I was lost.

Only a king?
